I'm glad its not required of people to imagine the dragons the way the books describe them. 'Cause NO offence to the author but I don't like their designs in the series. I like your depictions, they look great. Again no offence intended, so please everyone stay off my case. Its just personal preference.

I always feel sorry for Shruikan. It was Galbatorix's fault that made him completely insane. I actually thought that he could change and become good, but alas when Elva said that the only desire he had was to burn every living thing until it was nothing but a pile of ashes, I almost couldn't believe it.

Don't wake him up. He'll be grumpy and eat ya! (Which would be weird since an adult human would be smaller than one of his teeth)

Finally! Someone really does Shruikan justice! You can almost feel his pain and madness; even his desire to kill everything in his path and burn every plant until none are left.Β

Your familiar with this creature? Is this an actual AD&D Black Dragon?

Saberrex In reply to WayRadSteve [2016-12-06 17:47:49 +0000 UTC]
This is not a D&D creature. Shruikan is a dragon from the Inheritance Cycle, which comprises Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. Shruikan is the dragon that the main villain, Galbatorix, forcibly bonded to himself after killing Shruikan's original Rider. As such, Shruikan is lost to madness and misery. He is also so enormous from Galbatorix accelerating his growth over the last 100 years that his footsteps can be heard from a mile away, his back spikes are as thick as ancient oak tree trunks, and he filled Galbatorix's Throne room, which itself was immensely vast.

It's great to see someone explain his character as more than just "the bad guy's steed" lol
Inheritance is incredible, and as a fan of D&D, you'd probably love it
