About time I got around to this...

Nemo is probably the longest-running foal I've ever bred. I started working towards a Chipmunk in February last year and with all the mania of life and puppy, it was around November (I think) before I actually got all the breeding payments done and sent in for the geno. Then it took me a little while to fully decide on the design, and then even longer to find him a name. He still has a temporary reference because it took me so long.

But all foals I breed, I like to do these 'birth pictures' for. Just a little something of their earliest days, usually with mum, but not always.

So Nemo's has finally been finished, and with this, his life is officially on track

I was really playing with style for this one. I wanted a chunky, toonish look...but then I started shading and it became this funny blend. I still like the look, though. The sketch was done late last year, I believe, and then a couple of days ago, I painted it in PS. There's a few colour layers, and the shading is greyscale (but uber light) set to multiply (as I was trying something else there, too). I think it messed with Nemo's colour just a little; let's just say he gets a bit darker as he gets older

The sketch was a traditional one which I ditched after getting the basic shapes, so this is all lineless. Almost entirely airbrushed.

And I felt like making it a sticker; hence the border and lack of background. Not for free use, though.

Nemo is the foal; he's a homozygous gold champagne Chipmunk Faime miniature.

Chipmunk Rah is his mother; she's a gold champagne Faime mini, too (Nemo basically inherited all her genes ). I borrowed her here from her owner, AntiqueFyreStables I hope that's okay ^^

Time: Lost track. A good handful of hours, I think.
