Ling hated holidays. Even moreso because her wretched mother was always intent on getting her into one of her old dresses for the occasion. In fact, her mother always seemed to have a dress for every event of the year, and this year would be no different. Before the sun was even up, Ling had slipped out of her bedroom window and into the chilly air of Republic City's morning to meet up with her twin brother. He would cover for her surely, saying that they needed to set up early for their daily shows. Her breath came out in small puffs, combing out her hair during her jog to their usual meeting place. It didn't take her very long to reach the small area the vendors generously left open for them, grinning from ear to ear as she watched her brother set up.

She'd just...wait behind this building until he was done.
