Description Staff Sgt. Eleanor "Ellie" Rose
Callsign: Dancer
DOB: 4/18/1990
Height: 5'8
Weight: 130 lbs.
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue
Place of Birth: California
Occupation: USAF TACP

Bio:
A gifted dancer from an early age, Ellie started in ballet but later on took up contemporary and street dance as well. Despite her potential she grew disenchanted with pursuing a professional career in the performing arts despite receiving numerous offers from talent scouts and changed her major to political science and foreign languages.
She enlisted into the air force afterwards as an airborne cryptologist, and took part in the SERE course, where her performance was noticed and she was offered an opportunity to take part as a candidate for an experimental program to test women to go through the TACP pipeline. During the intense 30 week course, which saw two thirds of the trainees wash out early on, by the end of the program only Ellie and a handful others passed. They were then given their berets and proceeded to attain their JTAC qualification. The number of qualified JTAC operators has not been disclosed.
SSG Rose or 'Dancer' was attached to the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan stationed at Bagram AFB until the end of their deployment. After the withdrawal of ISAF Ellie and was later reassigned to the Philippines as part of OEF-P. To prepare for deployment to the southern regions of the Philippines she took part in the JEST course in the re-established Subic Naval Base. Ellie took part in support of several counter-insurgency operations in the southern regions of the Philippines in support of US JSOC units working alongside the Philippine army. Most of it involved training with the Philippine Marines and Army units based in the central and southern regions of the Philippines.

Unfinished bio, still working on this as i go

Surprised?

It's still an early rough look for her somewhat, but i like where this is going

PS

i'll keep that in mind, but rather you are free to send me a note with whatever you find useful or interesting that you feel worth passing along to me, or just whatever you like, that you'd think i'd like as well. i'm open and welcome to learn about stuff and tidbits, and the internet can only provide so much answers

just makes sure it's nothing that may threaten OPSEC (don't worry i'm not some jihadist/rebel/whistleblower plotting to use this info to cause harm) but feel free to pass along whatever you may find out (particularly anything on the equipment and gear, or on the joint activities of the Philippine military with the US military, etc.)

Uh oh...she bears some resemblance to an OC of mine, also named Ellie.  mirumoto-kenjiro.deviantart.co… Luckilly, it's not much to cause an issue, since my Ellie Gray is a blonde and from USAF Pararescue.

They'd probably dye their hair and switch places, and see how long it takes for their teammates to find out.  Also, my Ellie's a bit of a greenhorn when it comes to combat experience.

Only point of criticism: you've made the pattern tile too small.  Multicam shapes are actually a lot larger.  i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v1/72…

Pretty cool, too bad the AFSOC and TACP program is still off limits to females. She needs more comms..LOl...dual 152's on her kit...she is too lean and mean... I really feel for JTACS man. I went through the JTAC prep course and it was a pain in the ass.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TChenArt In reply to NicholasWatersArt [2014-04-21 15:34:42 +0000 UTC]

thanks, and yes i'm well aware that AFSOC and most other US SOF units are not open to women, and even if they were open, they'd have to be able to pass in the first place (and if even most guys can't get through then don't expect amazons to start cropping up)
i'm still refining and updating her as i go, so this is just sort of a basic look for her

i have been reading a lot about the AFSOC units and JTACs. gotta give them credit for what they have to do

it ain't for everyone i suppose

I actually get JTACs and Combat Controllers confused. Could you remind me?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TChenArt In reply to SouthernWriter2 [2014-04-19 04:04:55 +0000 UTC]

a JTAC or joint terminal attack controller is a person who is qualified to call in CAS. A CCT or combat control team is one of the AFSOC units that can trace back to the airborne pathfinders who would go ahead of the main force and establish forward air control and direct air assets in the area. CCTs are usually certified JTACs, since it's part of their training and qualification

Ahh yes, applying camo with photoshop, quite a helpful time-saver. XD How did you do? I only did it for Resolve yet, I would paint a random color where the camo appears before clipping the pattern layer above it.

i just downloaded some camo brushes and just applied it at random over each other. it ain't perfect, but it's something XP

It was sort of as a nod to her being from the Air Force and also to break up the whole multicam. I might change it to a darker or faded look
