Description
Torturer returns with a certificate of a qualified neurosurgeon from the Mars Schola of Fuckupedness. Ready to help all the unfortunate Guardsmen, Commissars, Sisters of Battle, Inquisitors and loyalist Astartes with their schizoid and depressive disorders.It's funny to see how my skill progresses on this character, and how he changes as my ability to paint progresses in return. While started off as joke Stu character with a silly and unrefined design, now evolved into a form I like and deem fit to expand on.

That's really nice to hear, but no, not in the near-foreseeable future. I came to the realization that warhammer was very toxic to me as an artist, so I'm gonna stay away from it for quite some time.

Fair enough. It's important to grow beyond one's roots and evolve oneself. Your style fits the cyberpunk stuff really well. I will however miss your vision on the 40k universe. It's a lot more.....diverse? I guess than a lot of artists and writers, and it's really helped inspire my own vision on that world. Ypu got me interested in cultists as humans and interesting characters in the first place, and while I always loved Noise Marines and Slaanesh, I have never seen them portrayed as awesomely as the Sick Six. So, while I'm sad to see you leave it behind, I really am thankful for you sharing your vision with the world. I'm excited to see what you come up with next. /fanboi

Yes, I guess my vision did differ.
But see, there's a question any artist has to answer - so what do I do with it? Obviously, since the franchise belongs to GW, what can I do with my vision and works? Try to get hired by them and propone it through like that? But I don't and never sought to work for GW. Start my own Lost and Damned sub-thing, like people on the Bolter&Chainsword forus do with their creations? But I don't have a sufficient fanbase, and then still - what for? A very small speck of people even on dA had really enjoyed my Chaos schtick, which was unsufficient for such a project.
So on one hand, I took everything I could from it, and began to tire. For a next leap into something bigger, for development of something that would always yet constrain me copyright-wise, I would've propably required support that was just physically not there: in the fandom, Chaos fans are a minority, and even in that minority, how many people liked what I did? I'm not the person to draw or work in the table, honestly - I'm open in the fact that what I do, I do to show it, for people to use it, not just keep to myself. So yeah, what for? The fact that it was a dead end in terms of perspective, the fact that I felt it stifled me as an artist, just lead me to realize I don't need to clutch to Warhammer anymore. I should do and promote my own thing.
Maybe is I started drawing comics about Ultramarines or Inquisitors or make mock-up artbooks with Grey Knights and try to sell it, it would've been viable to stay in the game, but that wasn't the case.
In any case, it is I who should be thankful that people like you, you exactly, stick with my stuff no matter the theme. That's what a true art appreciator does.

Brilliant work with the lower jaw and face shading. What is your method to getting such good distinction between flesh and metal? I can never get it right, and its been driving me insane.

i dont know why,but the blind eyes work a lot better than your previous avatars of him. Its a bit basic for chaos troops to have only whites,but for Torturer it just feels right. I love the bottom jaw part also,has that Metal Gear Raiden feel to it you tried before

Он первоначально был задуман просто шутки ради? Удивительная судьба у персонажа сложилась, надо же). И в самом деле вижу, ты в последнее время занялся его редизайном, он становится на вид всё хаоси.. хаосяш.. Блин, в общем, он начинает выглядеть всё более по-хаоситски, и это, несомненно, большой плюс.

Ну как бы да... для шуточного ролплея между несколькими художниками) Естественно. Однако не хочу превратиться в одного из художников, которые помешанны на своем персе и каждый месяц выдают новую версию с дохуя деталями. текущая версия если и будет меняться, то просто в зависимости от кортинки.

Hmm a bit sloppy execution and your other pieces are generally too colorfull and lacking focus.
If you want to see your art in important places like on the cover of a fantasy flight games publicaiton you better take a look at the other deviantartists who made it there and try you hand in a more realistic approach to the universe.
