"I make martyrs out of mere men. Too bad they never appreciate it. " - attributed to Torturer.So here it is, my new fully rendered warhams piece done in my fav pallette.
Started out as a quick sketch, but I couldn't leave it like that and worked up towards a completed work.
Torturer's freeing the demon inside 's Chaplain Moerchen via low-level psykering and transforming the latter into a Possesed Marine. Read it in 's fic here - [link]
Need to say, Gary "Torturer" Stu is incredibly fun to draw despite his complex armor and design. I think it's my best Marine character up to date.
Moerchen's design is based on Sonja's quick sketch, so I expanded on it - was cool to draw something organically-toothy for a change of all the metal.
And of course, fanservice - have your guro-inspired impaled Sororita bitch) Don't see those in such degrading but fetishist positions, do we?

My favorite hobby is going through your art, and (if) its Torturer, to find all these little messages on his armor and weapons. Do you come up with those on the spot, or is more of a 'I should put this in a future sketch'?

I've never played Warhammer, but the impaled chick totally reminds me of my Dungeons and Dragons time, specifically when I ended up murdering a rival, eating his brains and using the skull as a decorative pauldron. Oh how I miss those days. ;_;

There's not a single part of this I don't love... can't imagine moving around very well in such massive armor though, seems extremely cumbersome.
And I know the self torture of creating such detailed characters... but I love drawing them, too.

well actually Torturer's armor is rather small, only the left shoulderpad is that huge, plus the jetpack. It just gives him a more scrapped, less uniformic look)

I was just going to ask whether you hated yourself for creating such a detail-heavy OC, but you answered that already. So moving on!
The whole layout reminds me of a CCG illustration, which is an awesome thought.
There's something to Torture's face, it's not a bad something, he just seems to have more life in him, despite half being covered up by that mask. He reminds me of someone, and no, it ain't your ID pic, strangely enough. Fethed if I can figure it out though.
Randumb fact: the number 6 and sex are the same word in Swedish. Slaanesh would be most pleased with our wicked tongue

You know, on one hand, heavily detailed characters are hard to draw at first. But then you get the hang of it and it comes on naturally. I wanted to do a more cartoonish, comic-like and simplified version of Torturer, but damn, I suck at cartoonish stuff and designs. Can't find the balance between lack of details and stylishness. So I ditched the project. It makes sense to do simple designs so that say, other people could draw the characters, but no one does that to mine so there was no real need to simplify the design. It's just more fun. Devil is in the details, ha.
Hah, thanks a lot. I am quite proud of the layout and perspective in this one, because it actually HAS perspective, one thing I'm still quite bad at since my drawings more often than not, lack it and are flat.

No need to force what isn't there, I guess. I should know about insane amount of detailing myself. Though I have a naturally stylized way of drawing, so adding details comes as afterthought for me
