One of these pages usually takes me 4-5 hours in one sitting.
Granted, those sittings do involve standing up to get stuff to drink and checking tumblr and devArt.

Directly on the computer. One, 'cuz I'm lazy and two, 'cuz I don't have a good scanner.
Not to mention the computer that the scanner is hooked up to is ancient and sometimes occupied.

Haha. I think that's great. :3 I often start out with a sketch on paper nowadays, because I'm having trouble coordinating my strokes on the computer. I'm really bad at drawing closed circles or just getting the intended line shape, so it takes a lot of trying and undoing, until I happen on a shape that I can use. So again, I admire your spead and clean pages.
As for scanners, I never cared much for them myself, despite trying. Grains, scratches and what not. Never got a nice looking result from scanning without having to do heavy editing afterwards.
