Card 13. Death - Richard Upton Pickman, the GhoulThe Death card of the recently completed Major Arcana of my Dreamlands Tarot Deck, based upon the Dreamlands Cycle of HP Lovecraft, with particular inspiration by "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath". Minor Arcana to be completed over the next few months. They are of course incomplete verisions, without borders, numbers, and titles.
Prismacolors on black.

Awesome effect - this one looks even more like bas-relief than some of the others. He looks like he's made of embossed copper, or something like that. Beautiful details, as always! Love that grin...

This card was one of the most difficult to get scanned in and properly adjusted- the tone on the original is a bit more "earthy", but, I wasn't able to manage to get it back to exactly the color of the original. Browns and yellows are always a challenge to scan when they're on top of black, it shines through and turns them greenish. Brown's harder to fight back with, but, in the end, I think the color was brought close enough back to where it should be, and is possibly a bit better than the original's.

i love how dark it is, without losing detail and texture. nicely done
