Dear 343 Industries:Pretty please?
A redesign of the Elephant heavy recovery vehicle, from Halo 3. I've always felt that the way the Elephant was presented in Halo 3, having a relatively low poly-count and only present in a single level, made it seem like almost an afterthought. I've just tried to give it a lovingly detailed makeover, as one of my favorite underrated Halo designs. This is a command variant, with an enclosed bay, and the cranes have been removed. It's also got a pair of remote-controlled chaingun turrets, manned from the interior cabin.
This is a design for the Halo story that I've been putting together.

"Underrated" cannot be said enough for the Elephant! It was a huge, nigh-indestructable, drivable base for crying outloud! It had so much potential and I wanted it back so bad

Yeah... I have fond memories of this guy, a 16 player capture the flag match, 25 flags to win, and a total match time of about 3 minutes.
I obviously had the clarity of mind to forgo stealing the flag in favor of stealing the whole base. You can imagine the chatter as the enemy base came heading straight towards our teams base. A few guys even opened fire in the confusion. XD

Sadly I think the Mamoth is going to be it's replacement.

The Elephant had its fair share of problems in Halo 3 (No roof? No gunner protection?) but you've managed to correct every single one of them.
And the artwork is awesome besides.

Man the elephant is the most evil vehicle in Halo, it is sooooooooooooo slow. I know it gave the guys at roosterTeeth aton of trouble after they used it in an episode, because every time they had to film in that level they had to drive it back around to where they had it the first time they shot with it, so 20 minutes of every shoot was dedicated to driving it around to the end of the map.

I'm pretty sure the Mammoth is its own thing. Aside from a general similarity in the shape of the front end, the two vehicles are pretty different (the Mammoth is much, much larger, for one).

Well yeah, but it definitely feels like the spiritual successor in that they have similar names and similar roles in combat. That's all I was getting at.

Ahhh, the good ol' Elephant. I remember managing to actually turn it onto its side and having to flip it in Halo 3. They do have that... very massive variant of it in Halo 4, but wasn't as fun as manning an Elephant~
