Description In light of my last journal, I decided to put my money where my mouth is and doodle a turian girlie.

Went kinda along with the comics design in terms of having no fringe/head spines, but I do have issues with some aspects of the comic design, like the white-face syndrome that makes turians look as skull-faced as humanly possible - no pun intended - and the ridiculous choice to have no bones or plates on the head at all. Turians are avian in design, so I can buy that the spines could be sort of a decorative male thing - maybe - but having the neck plates seems more protective, so I included those. For the rest, I just squished up the face a little bit and omitted the spines on the mandibles.

The other big problem with female turians in the comics was their HIDEOUS HIDEOUS CLOTHING. Ugh ugh ugh. Seriously, you guys, did you just decide to yourselves, 'well, these chicks are fugly, I'm not even gonna try'? STOP THAT AT ONCE.

Since Garrus mentioned waists, I drew this outfit that has no purpose other than to draw as much attention to that as possible. I didn't think of it until after drawing this, but in retrospect, I sort of like the idea that narrow waists are a guy thing for turians. These women have to carry their babies someplace, so maybe having a wider waist to go along with dem child-bearing hips is considered attractive. I dunno.
Moving on, I don't dig the way so many women in ME are just wearing long plain skirts - skirts are hot, but that style is just impractical. Turian gals, I'd imagine, would want something feminine, but comfortable and practical too.

The main thing in designing a girl, at least so far as turians are concerned, is just having her carry herself like one. I've no problem with the idea of say, krogan females being almost impossible to tell from the males, but I don't get that impression with turians. And then you give her a good voice actress and SEXINESS ENSUES.

Anywaaay, sorry if you hate it. I did my best!

For a fan-made Turian 'Chick', she is cute! Oh... if only bioware made a female turian LI for ME3, so all Female Shepards have Garrus, and the Males have her Turians are forever my favourite Species!

In an AU me and some of my friends are working, which will be on an alternate account, Turian females with crests are Biotics.

Hmm. Interesting, but without the fringe her head looks a tad strange to me. The concept is nice though

VERY good-looking Turian female concept here, she's quite beautiful.

It always niggles at me a little when there is only ever one age and body type for NPCs in a game--no old men or teenagers or young children or pregnant women or fat people or stumbling drug addicts. The fact that there were not even any females in Mass Effect apart from humans and asari really bothered me.

I like your interpretation a lot. The turians as a race are pretty battle-oriented, so I can really only imagine one wearing this at an ambassadorial meeting on the Citadel, but I prefer it to the comic depiction.

Very cute! It's nice to see a turian female concept that actually modifies/works with the comics version rather than outright ignores it.

I like this design better than the comics. And you did better than some other people on DA. They think female anything and they immediately try to slap two bulbous masses on their chest and call it a day.

No problem . And I really hope we get to see some female turians in ME3 soon. That would be great.

I imagine some of them would be like "GTFO AWAY FROM OUR MEN !!!" because of all the human women and asari taking them away for themselves

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

admiral-squee In reply to LiliumSnow [2011-05-17 06:51:14 +0000 UTC]

That may be why we haven't seen any turian ladies so far: they took one look at the asari and said, "screw it."

LiliumSnow In reply to admiral-squee [2011-05-17 07:59:37 +0000 UTC]

Awwww, that's just mean :'D

Actually, if I remember correctly, it was because the developers could fit enough room for female alien counterparts when they released the game. Or something like that.

I kind of imagine litte turian children girls being total tomboys. It's hard to imagine them with things like dolls and stuff XD

Haha, yes. Turian children would be destructive little munchkins, wouldn't they?

LiliumSnow In reply to admiral-squee [2011-05-18 02:52:17 +0000 UTC]

That has to suck for a turian. You don't get to be a citizen of Palaven until you become a soldier and risk your life. Imagine if you died before you were able to get your citizenship.

Well, the turian military is more than just pew-pew. There are administrative positions, doctors, research... Hell, the military even builds all the schools and roads, so you might not even see combat outside of boot camp.

I like what you did with the belts over her waist -- it really draws attention to that area!

And I agree with you about not liking the females' design. Garrus specifically says, "If you were a turian, I'd be complimenting your waist or your FRINGE" - so the complete lack of one bothered me. Why they didn't include one, but make it shorter, or more rounded off I dunno...

very nice.
on the subject of turian females i allways thought it would be nice if turned out that youve been seeing them since the first game, they just have no sexual dimorphism (look Exactly like males) it would make them even stranger.

Well she looks quite femenine to me . Love the outfit, and the poses and bet she has flexibility too

Though that makes me wonder what can a Turian see in a human female...

She looks really adorable! Personally I really hate the fringeless design; for a myriad of reasons really and not all of them "aesthetic" either. (My apologies to those who happen to be fans of that look, I mean no offense!) But you pulled that look off just fine She looks SO wonderful! And no tonnes of jewelry or lace. What a great job!
