Description I decided to make this fella the subject of some posing practice. I chose a pose from the back since I have trouble with those, and adapted the anatomy/proportions as needed. I also had to improvise on the back markings since I couldn't find reference for those.

Great improvement in anatomy, I read your journal and you should look at this piece and feel proud, it may not feel like it but you are definitely improving ;3 the only thing I'd take another look at is the placement of the ankle bones and foot muscles. The ankle bones would tend to be a bit higher up with a downward ramp coming off them that forms the top of the foot.

Take a look at this for a visual guide:

Also note the asymmetry between the inner ankle bone and the outer one.

Overall, do not despair my friend you are getting there and it is good that you are honing your skills in on one area, I think you will rapidly see an increase in the quality of your stuff!

Yeah, my favorite character too!

The break is really great, really to the feeling of power that emerges in the book. For tribal designs in the back, there actually is no reference in the book, but it gives him an even more barbaric look.

Very good graphic, I really like this theme
(are you inspired by ancient-early medieval culture, for example .: of the Celts, Nordik, the Scots, the Slavs or even something else? )

Wow this is really cool sadly I haven't read Taggerung yet.. What kind of a Redwall fan am I T_T but anyway I think you did great on the back, especially with the proportions to his arms

Although, in my opinion, maybe te left arm could hang down a little more considering the joints are straighter. It's somethig I notice when people are relaxed, but when they get tense the arm gets a little more bent around the joint especially when more alert. I could be wrong though

But overall this looks really good and you'll be out of your slump in no time xD

Epic *awesome*! I'm so glad you ended up posting a pic today! Yeah, back poses are pretty hard, but I think you did a wonderful job with this. Everything looks proportionate enough, although his footpaws look a little bit too flat, like his heels should be bigger. Also, and this is just a styling preference, but I think his tail should be longer, given how otters in general have really long tails that help them with swimming.

As for the markings, I don't believe Tagg ever had any in the book. He had tattoos on his face, yes, but I don't believe he was ever described having anything else. True, the book cover did give him extra, but I actually don't object to that (or to the ones you added) because it just makes him look cooler and more savage-like.

Oh yeah, another critique: Martin's sword should be a bit shorter, but that's because of how big Tagg is supposed to be. He was described as being very tall in the book, and that Martin's sword seemed a bit too small for him.

But other than that, this is one of the best pics I've ever seen of the Taggerung.
