The tenth planet in the Yeeret trinary star system in the alpha quadrant. Soldaren is orbited by 10 moons. The atmosphere of the planet is composed mainly of hydrogen and helium gas with thick layers of nitrogen and oxygen interspersed throughout. The 5 main inhabitable zones contained massive platforms of stone that were constructed long ago. Many species native to the planet are capable of flight including the avian T'sel.
70 million years ago the planet was transformed into a repository for species across the galaxy. As such it is not uncommon to see animals from places such as earth and Qo'nos together. the ancestors of the T'sel species were genetically engineered. Over millions of years immigrated species developed and adapted to the climate long after the artifical weather systems had been abandoned by the civilization that built them. The planet was still maintained by a computer located in a hidden control center near the core.
The population is centered into two "cells" near the equator and close to the surface. The lower inhabitable zones become colder and stormier as they get closer to the core.
