Personality: Mistress embodies all the best qualities of the Nordanners as war horses. She is bold and fearless, takes care of her riders in any situation, and bonds strongly with people. While she has her quirks and opinions, Mistress is generally a very friendly horse, and not one to hold a grudge.

O'Mistress Mine is an older mare, and a definite leader type. She keeps her calm even in the worst situations, and is very protective of others. She can be a bit nosy, however - Mistress seems to think that anything and everything that goes on around her is her business. She has not lost her youthful curiosity with age, and enjoys learning and being the centre of attention.

The purpose she was bred for shows clearly when she is being handled. Mistress is a very easy horse to handle from the ground, no matter what you wish to do with her - as long as you are clear about those wishes. Mistress dislikes uncertainty, as she herself is very set on the things she does. On her back the rider has nothing to fear; Mistress can be hacked out at full gallop, and she will stop with nothing but a thought.

While she is very fond of people and clearly prefers their company most of the time, Mistress fits in well with most horses. She is usually turned out with her adult daughters. Something of a peace keeper, the old mare has authority over the younglings, and can break up most fights with a disapproving look and a stomp of her front hoof.
