Background: Kalen is a young woman who works as an assistant to Dr. Amano. She was adopted by his father some time after his wife left, not wanting Shinpi to feel so alone. Her life before being adopted isn’t known and she doesn’t seem to remember herself, so she doesn’t like talking about the subject. Both her and Shinpi got along quickly, much like an actual brother and sister. After Shinpi’s father passed away and he took on his researcher in his place, she became Shinpi’s assistant. Seeing the great work that Shinpi did, Kalen began to admire him, wanting to do as good as he could, possibly even better, so long as it meant she could help see her adoptive brother’s goals come to fruition. By the time that Shinpi had become famously known in the world of research, she was wholly dedicated to him.

However, Shinpi’s good fortune was not meant to last. An accident with one of his new inventions, the Mana Drive, caused the robot he used this invention on to go berserk. Many people were injured before the robot could successfully be shut down, Kalen being one of those people. Her injury was a little more severe than most of the others, as it cost her her left arm. Naturally, fearing for the life of his most trusted assistant, Shinpi took her with him in his escape. Taking her into the secret lab he had, he tended to her injuries. She was able to survive this accident thanks to his assistance, but there was the issue of her now missing arm. Feeling guilty over having unintentionally caused this, Shinpi worked day and night to build her a new arm, using one of the previously defective Mana Drives as a power source. It was a smaller drive than the one used previously, and he had longer time to work on this one, so it proved more effective than his first attempt. Her new arm was a success. Despite this, Shinpi still felt guilt ridden for causing this in the first place and gave his assistant many apologies for his failures. However, Kalen was not angry over this accident. In fact, it only hardened her belief that he only wanted to help others, and she swore her loyalty to him both as family, and his assistant.

Of course, when Shinpi decided to become a villain if it meant he could help others later, Kalen made good on her promise to stay loyal and followed him wherever he went, even when he joined the Crescent Moon Mage Academy as a teacher and researcher.

Personality: Kalen is more quiet and withdrawn compared to Shinpi, who is more loud and eccentric. She prefers to keep interaction short, unless she’s particularly close with someone or it happens to be important. She is wholly loyal and devoted to Shinpi and his cause, and insults to Shinpi are one way to trigger rage from her. While it may not look like it, Kalen has a good sense of humor and a good way to get her in a better mood is a clever joke.

Abilities: While Kalen has knowledge in magic and technology like Shinpi, Shinpi is the smarter one between the two and she is more of the muscle. In addition to already knowing how to fight, her Mana Drive powered arm makes her punches more powerful, and lets her use powerful Explosion magic. Shinpi has also developed specially made armors for her to use in combat in more dangerous situations. Her main armor is a more general use armor, granting her both long range options and close range options. Her close range options come in the form of a beam tomahawk, and her left arm becomes a beam saber when donning this armor. Her ranged weapons come in the form Attack Bits that can attack at a range and all around an enemy, and her previously mentioned beam saber hand can fire off energy attacks when the beam saber mode is not in use.

Her other armor is more focused on close combat and appears more beastlike. Both of her hands become more claw-like in this form, and the same happens to her feet. She gains a blade-like tail as well. However, she has no ranged weaponry in this form. When her armors are not in use, she has them stored inside a storage space inside of the arm itself using a special kind of magic that creates an extra space inside the arm.
