Description Return of another old OC, this time the mad scientist Erika. I wanted to give her a less vague backstory than I had for her initially. The art is from .

Age: 34

Planned voice: Shizuka Ishigami

Species: Chimera

Background: While much of her early life is wrapped in mystery, Erika was always known to be a genius from an early age, typically being the top of her class throughout most of her life. Not much of an overachiever, but Erika was like any other scientist or doctor; wanting to uncover everything she could about the human body and beyond that, especially if it meant helping others. Erika was one of the best in her field, even at a young age in comparison. However, Erika’s goals and motivations took a very dark turn when her parents fell ill with a disease that, at the time, had no cure, so their lives were unfortunately taken away. Erika was so emotionally and mentally destroyed by this event that she had dropped all of her other research projects in favor of not only curing this disease, but also reviving her parents. She began obsessively looking into both of these goals, with her methods becoming increasingly dark as she went on. She started kidnapping people off the streets to further her research, in hopes of meeting both her goals. Eventually, Erika did find a cure for this disease, but it didn’t stop there. She had to find a way to bring back her parents as well, without the use of magic, as necromancy would only bring them back as soulless corpses.

Unfortunately, Erika’s obsession with her goal caused her to lose sight of it completely, and her research became invested in the idea of preserving the body and keeping a person alive, rather than try reviving them. To that end, Erika’s kidnappings became far more frequent, and she had a number of facilities overseen by her, where the people she kidnapped would undergo various inhumane experiments, oftentimes forcing the kidnappees into becoming Chimeras, those who retain their human forms but could transform into a form reminiscent of those of Henshin heroes. No matter how inhumane her experiments were, Erika always made it a rule to not disfigure the beauty of the human body, at least in her own words. Despite this, not every subject of hers was lucky to survive her experiments, and those that did were usually forced into working for her. Erika’s insane scientific pursuits caught the attention of Xander Klein, who at the time, was already working on experiments of his own. Because of their similar pursuits, Xander offered the woman more funding to bring her research into new heights. Erika knows nothing of Xander’s true intentions, nor does she particularly like her new partner, but the two worked together nonetheless and were responsible for the tragedies that would occur between Edward, Valerie, and Noriko. That isn’t including those who have escaped from her facilities that weren’t under her direct watch, such as Elise or Deino.

With Xander’s funding, Erika was able to take on numerous identities and fake professions to earn the trust of others around her and diffuse suspicions, allowing her to go into a new field of research for her; creating human life off of a pre-existing life, whether they be alive or dead. Her most famous examples are her “children”, Zeo and Xel, who were both created artificially using Erika’s own DNA, and Natalia, a direct clone of Valeria made with the data she obtained from her after her escape.

Personality: Erika is a genius in every sense of the word, but is also unapologetically insane. She has very little regard for the lives of those around her, particularly her test subjects, and has a sadistic sense of humor when it comes to her research. She claims the more painful it is on the lab rat, the more fruitful her research will become. She doesn’t seem to care much if a test subject dies on her either, moreover just viewing it as a waste of resources. Erika has a violent temperament, often losing her composure when something doesn’t go her way, or if one of her test subjects escapes. The quickest way to make her furious is making an experiment that mutates or contorts the human body, and when she becomes furious, she almost always ends up killing one of the people working for her or on the experiment. Erika has a twisted love for the human body, hating the idea of science destroying its outward appearance, and she’ll go to great lengths to restore any physical injuries her experiments put on one’s body. Despite her clear insanity, Erika struggles with deep depression, and can often be heard sobbing when alone or seen with a tired expression. Zeo and Xel were created by her to fill in the void that her parents left with their untimely passing, and she treats them like her actual children. On the flip side, she views Natalia as a tool to her own ends, and cares very little for her. In regards to Xander, she doesn’t like him, but tolerates him because of the money he offers. If she knew of his true intentions with their shared experiments, she would likely make an attempt on his life.

Abilities: As mentioned previously, Erika is a genius. She has an extensive knowledge of various living beings, ranging from humans, elves, beastkins, regular animals, etc., and knows what makes each and every one of them tick. In regards to humans, elves, and beastkin, Erika knows ways to incapacitate someone by hitting specific spots on their body. She has a quick analytical mind as well, being able to point out specific weaknesses on a person based on their physical actions. While her main expertise is in research and technology, Erika is no slouch in combat either thanks to her knowledge of the body. In addition to this, Erika has also experimented on her own body as well, turning herself into a Chimera and allowing her a transformation and improving her physical ability as well. In her transformed state, Erika takes on a more feline appearance, and in addition to being able to move at blinding speeds, she can also discharge electricity and slash away enemies with her claws.
