I promised myself that I wouldn't upload sketches anymore to my DA, but I just can't stop. I like sketching, and doing colored works are such a pain.The only thing about it that I don't like is that I put the character in the background (Sakura) in red, and the character in the foreground (Naruto) in blue. Anyone who knows the basics of color theory knows that the red will cause Sakura to appear to come forward in the pic, and blue will cause Naruto to recede. Meh, I was just sketching. I wasn't thinking too much about the colors I was using until I was done.
Naruto and Sakura aren't mine, they belong to Viz and Kishimoto.

for some reason, my eyes just flit back to naruto...i'm looking at sakura but naruto stands out more. maybe because the blue is brighter...?

I honestly don't know. I'm not too worried if Kishimoto doesn't. I actually see there not being any definite pairings in the end.
As long as Naruto and Hinata don't get together without some definite character development, then I'm fine. (If they just randomly end up together I might have to hurt someone.)

Not a big Naruto fan, but I like the use of color in this piece, especially the shared speech bubble. I wouldn't worry too much about having used red in the background, I feel that it actually makes them look to be the same distance away from the viewer, and thus reasonable if you picture this at a bit of an angle (as if you were not perpendicular to their parallel positions). I like the sketchiness together with the tone. Makes for a nice texture.

I often feel the same way about inking. I actually bought a facial expressions book to practice, because I'm autistic, expressions aren't really my forte. But when I started drawing them, I was like "hey, this would be a great opportunity to practice inking, too!" So my advice is to ink everything that's not important to you (practices, doodles, etc.) so you aren't upset if you mess up.

I would rather think that, since Sakura determined to stop watching her boys backs, the red brings her up equal, even if she's just behind. And you know she's trained enough to be there.

Beautiful, even for a sketch! The way you brought out Naruto and Sakura's forms with rough lines makes it look softer, more realsitic. Which is good!
