i saw the movie yesterday, and DAYYYUUM. i was in heaven, robert downey jr is so gorgeous
he did an amazing acting job too, which completely made the movie for me. i wonder why they left out his coke addiction tho, that would have been an interesting thing to add...

I know! I thought he was an absolutely fantastic Sherlock Holmes and really made the character work. I also adored his relationship with Watson -- Jude Law did a great Watson. Different, but great. He was more of a person instead of a Holmes-worshipping-bumbler.
Yeah, I was wondering about that too, but it was PG-13 movie and drug abuse is put under an R rating. SO i think they sacrificed the cocaine addiction so they could have the PG-13 rating. Whatever. When I was at the Sherlock Holmes museum in London, there was a little poster telling about all of Sherlock's stuff, and one talked about his cocaine addiction. It said "Some people hold his cocaine addiction against Holmes, but they just don't understand the atmosphere of Europe at the time!" So I guess Ritchie figured that modern audiences JUST WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE ATMOSPHERE OF EUROPE AT THE TIME.
