Arkka, I well remember shooting Kodachromes in this area in 1972.I remember the lush, fertile greens of the terrace borders, the rice plants, the banana trees, the coconut trees and after harvest, the bright yellow of the sun-dried straw against the brown of the stubble; all under a rich blue sky. Black and white is great for some landscapes, but my memories are of glorious colour. All my films were stolen before I returned to Australia; a disaster, but I am determined to go back and do it again. Perhaps we can meet in Ubud and go together to photograph this most beautiful place; the rice-fields of the gods.

Wow, I can't believe you still have a fresh memory for the scene you saw about 40 years ago, eh? And I feel a shame for the film stealer, why would someone do that? I mean what's the benefit for them? I'm sorry for you..Yeah I agree with you, it just I'm in the mood of studying black and white recently. It's another issues for me to choose between the b&w or the colored version. lol.Sounds awesome! Promise me whenever you have the plan for Bali, contact me. I'll fly there as soon as I got your message. Email me at arkkaka@yahoo.com or I can add you in facebook, if you have one? I'm very excited about this

Haha, none of my memories are fresh anymore, as you'll understand when you reach my age. I remember much detail from 40 years ago but forget what I had for breakfast yesterday. The thief was an assistant hired for me from HK; he took all my working capital except for $100 and he took all my 35mm film including exposed rolls and left me 6 long out-dated rolls of kodachrome 25; virtually useless for photography in the forests and mountains. I'm told that he regreted his crime when caught up with.Bali is a promise, though it might not be this year; my wife has other plans for this years Summer holidays in July/August, but I wouldn't dream of going to Bali or anywhere in Indonesia without you. Incidentally, I met my first wife on Jumpuan bridge in Ubud and took her to see the Tegalalang rice terraces that afternoon; but that's a story for another time and place. No Facebook access in China.
