Description It sure has been a while since I actually drew something related to PMD. And I don't mean using the characters...

However, with a just a few days left until the sequel is out, I felt inspired...

This is something that I've wanted to try for a while. I wanted to draw out the ending as I just enjoyed it so much. It was so adorable and sad... Here's my tribute.

And, guess what? I'm actually HAPPY with this one! It came out just as I had imagined!

I made use of many different effects on GIMP to get the look I wanted, and overall, I think I did a pretty decent job. So many other artists are still leagues ahead of me out there, but by my standards, I'm really proud of this one.

Anyhow, for those not in the know (prepare for PMD spoilers now), after you defeat Rayquaza and stop the falling star from colliding with the Earth, it is time for our hero to return home as a human. However, during this passing phase through time and space, he/she can hear the cries of the partner, who was heartbroken to see the main character leave.

And, after the credits roll, that piece of text in the pic appears...and he/she returns back to the base as the two Pokémon rush back into each other happily. Due to the sprite limitations in the game, there wasn't a whole lot to see, but I like to think of it as a loving embrace...

Obviously, this is the scene when the character is in that yellow bubble en route to the human world...and now has second thoughts.

I really can't think of much I don't like about this. If I had to be picky... I think I made it too small. I also wanted a different pose that wasn't so generic. Something similar to the fetal position.

Other than that however... I like this a lot.

In the German version, it says:

"Ich will nicht weg von hier...
Ich möchte noch bleiben...
Bei meinem wundervollen...
Einzigartigen Freund..."

Btw the ending was really sad

I'm afraid it isn't possible, as nice as it could be. There's absolutely no information saying for or against, but my money is on not being able to transfer data.

I never played the original PMD games, as much as I wanted to. <.<; Never got around to it.

But it would be interesting to pick up the next round of games in the series that are coming out. They seem to have improved a bit from the complaints other people had with the first games.

Awesome job on this B-Man. And extra brownie points for creative utilization of GIMP's special effects.

This is a rather emotional scene, and even though I haven't played the game myself, I think I can understand how the character must feel after leaving his comrades and friends like that to return to his normal state. That in itself says about all I need to know as to why this means a lot to you.

As for the drawing itself, it really does feel like you put a great deal of heart into this. That's not to say that you don't do it for all of your work, but there is something special with this one that makes it even more appealing. The entire image itself feels like an ending cutscene and even a postcard of some sort. That's how well you used everything here.

Simply put, it appears that your efforts have made this an image that you're extremely proud of, and while some may be able to point out this or that, it doesn't really matter as much here. That said, it really is one of your better drawings, so you shouldn't have any shame to begin with. Very well done!
