Description This is An illustration I did for one of my favourite poems,
'O Solitude!'

Full Ode

O SOLITUDE! if I must with thee dwell,
Let it not be among the jumbled heap
Of murky buildings; climb with me the steep,—
Nature’s observatory—whence the dell,
Its flowery slopes, its river’s crystal swell,
May seem a span; let me thy vigils keep
’Mongst boughs pavillion’d, where the deer’s swift leap
Startles the wild bee from the fox-glove bell.
But though I’ll gladly trace these scenes with thee,
Yet the sweet converse of an innocent mind,
Whose words are images of thoughts refin’d,
Is my soul’s pleasure; and it sure must be
Almost the highest bliss of human-kind,
When to thy haunts two kindred spirits flee.

By
John Keats

(My favourite parts the bee btw)

It's a nice sunny day, so I thought I'd pop into your gallery again. Now that's lovely, with a sprinkling of innocent dreamyness!
You are the girl with Purple hair and a bee is taking off from your head, like a plane off an aircraft carrier.
Love the swirly decorative branches, like the're about to bud with blossom.
Aren't there twin peaked mountains somewhere they call the "paps of Anu"?

I'm not sure about the twin peaked mountains.
But you can see the Dublin/wiclow mountains in the distance from the end of my road.
That ode is one of the few i have learnt off to the word and i've been reciting it in my head since i was about 14 a lot as a way of calming and distancing myself from whatever was going on around me.

It has been lovely and sunny lately here too. all my little seedlings have turned into little plants now. it's great i was terrified it would snow on them again. (shakes fist at the snow gods)

I do love the Bee... And although the girl looks nothing like me it is me daydreaming yes

Thanks again

Ah that's it, the Widows peaks! Is there the hills of Tara too, that were meant to be the old Kings of Ireland!?!
That's interesting, using the poem as a mental shield.
Would you say that now, at 27, you feel in control of your emotions to some degree? THe art you're doing at this moment, keeps you in control, is calming and making you take a more "philosophical" outlook, outside of your PTSD?
I was in denial for years, delusional, but one innocent event brought it all flooding back to me when I was 30-something, and started a spiral of self-destruction.
The Pope's visit last year and all the obvious demonstrations and revelations, really affected me and brought it all back.
I'm still at the mercy of the horrors now, it seems.
Comes and goes in waves.
I see and hope your artistic "mission" at the mo as a one way positive journey. The further you motor down this road, the further behind your "troubles" are left. A bit like the Northern Ireland peace process!
Pony-cat will save you!

I'm not as mad as i used to be no. but i did choice theory for ages and as much as it made me want to murder the person who was Counseling me in it, it really improved my 'behavioral' issues
I still het set off by somethings. and it's harder to keep all the plates spinning when i have more day to day stresses going on.
I think everyone has memories triggered by certain things it's just some wounds get ripped open again more easily.

Glad you've recovered some sanity.
My therapist would often close his eyes as I was prattling on and pick his nose!?!
Makes me sound American with "My Therapist", but I was referred on the NHS.
Had to attend a booze and drug rehab clinic too and was asked to write down the pros and cons of alcohol. I wrote a 5 page essay and The bloke said he felt like having a drink too, after reading it.
I like the image of you spinning plates, like one of those performers on TV, sticking them on poles.
With your cat running around, trying not to trip you up.

I met a guy who was hospitalised for alcoholism at 15. So far as a social life goes that was pretty much a death sentence in Ireland. he was on anti booze tabs and all.

My cat doesn't try yo not to trip me up,he goes for it full force. it's a little known fact that cat's actually want to kill all humans as subtly as possible.

That sounds a bit previous, getting hospitalised by 15.
Surely you need a good 10 years to develop a serious addiction...Give the boy a chance!
Cats are mysterious and wiley, aren't they.

he told them how often he drank. it was the same amount as his friends. but they considered it excessive. clearly none of them had been wayward teenagers

had a peep at your gallery, that's quite the compliment coming from someone who uses such vivid colours themselves!
