Yes, I am still alive. No, I'm not going to explain why I've been absent this entire year. At least not yet.

"Days Gone By" is probably my favorite song off the album, and I've been wanting to render it in line and color since first I heard it. I held back though, for lack of a good enough concept and a desire to do the song justice, but when I saw the Apples' parents in "The Perfect Pear" I finally had something to work with. I suppose I should be happy it turned out half-way decent, what with my painting skills being dulled by disuse for the better part of a year. It seemed a shame to break a five year tradition though, so here you go. Merry Christmas, people!

Funny enough, about two days ago (at the time of this writing) I was going to send you a comment on your page wondering if you are still alive and well.

You captured so much in this piece, and the more I look at it, the more I find and the more I enjoy it. Days Gone By is one of my favorites on that album too, and you did a nice job capturing the idea of the song. You captured a very nice family scene one could imagine with the Apple family when they were all together.

I suppose dropping off the face of the earth with no warning or explanation wasn't the most considerate thing I've ever done, but then, it wasn't really a conscious decision.

It took me few tries to get the arrangement right. I was halfway through refining my working sketch when I realized how stiff and cheerless it was. I'm just glad I had the sense to pick up on it and make the necessary changes.Β
