I painted this one on Saturday just for fun because I've always wanted to paint a crab. No, I'm serious. Stop laughing, you.
I like this one, personally. I may do a series in different colours. I decided after painting him that I liked the colours so much that there was no point in risking losing him into the painting by adding a background. The "clean" look works pretty well, I think.
This is watercolour with acrylic spatter, 7" by 14". The full view lets you see a bit more detail. Original sold.

I was wondering if I might use it somewhere for a school project. I have to make a menu for culinary arts and we named our restaurant the Blue Crab. I'll give you full credit for the art of course.

Thank you! There really are blue crabs around here - I don't know if they have them in your part of the world, but I like the way crabs look. The segmented bodies make them a lot easier to paint than furry things, too.

I used to have little fiddler crabs, but they kept pulling each other's limbs off! It was horrid!

He's a cutie! There are crabs by my summerhouse. I once saw two of them fighting! This little guy looks so happy. Perhaps because you painted his portrait so well?
