Description *I'll take your requests on which god or goddess to do next; see below!*

I've been developing my Godlings characters bit by bit, and most recently I've been sketching busts of them to work out their primary features and colors.  I'll be posting them here, proof that I really do make art! ...just not finished art very often.  These character busts were meant to give me a reason to design the various minor characters that appear in Godlings, but also as an exercise to practice making distinctly different faces, something that I know a lot of comic artists struggle with, especially when it comes to pretty women.  These do not take into account full costumes that they might be wearing; they're just the base character, for my reference.

Most of the busts I've done so far are women, therefore.  I will eventually be getting to all the male faces as well.  And of course the Egyptians with their animal heads are a whole other issue.

The last of my female busts so far, everyone's favorite: Bastet!  Not your average Bastet, either, I'm hoping.  I wanted to make her noticeably different from Sekhmet, the lioness.  I also drew her face with inspiration from African wildcats, Egyptian maus (a little bit), the slenderness and regal profile of my roommate's cat, and also the coloring of my own tabby-ish cat.  Sadly, she has only an itty bitty cameo appearance in Godlings, but I look forward to designing her costume nevertheless.  I've got more planned for her look than the typical ancient Egyptian gauzy robes and headdresses and such.

Up next, Anubis and Sobek, and those are all that are finished so far.

But you know, I'm showing an AWFUL lot of gods and goddesses in the opening chapters of Godlings, and it's nothing but good practice and good prep work to sketch out how I'm going to show them all.  If you've got a favorite amongst the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Norse, the Celtic, the Hindu, or the Aztec pantheons, let me know!  I might have them down as appearing in Godlings, and I'll take requests as to which bust sketches (like these) to make next!
