Description I've long wanted to make my Assassin character, but didn't feel I was of the proper skill level to create an all black suit and have it look right. I finally decided to give it a go and am thrilled with the results!

The is a Mashi Horansi (alien from the Star Wars verse), thus she doens't really look like any specific kind of recognizable feline. Despite this, everyone called her a black kitty, which is awesome! She's a super light weight, use your own eyes mask. I laid the hair floof in by hand (using the same technique I use in making my Cats wigs). The pants, gloves, and boots are store bought- I created everything else. I made the tunic and hood from a nice lightweight knit, so it's great for traveling (doesn't wrinkle much), and super comfortable and cool to wear.

I was wondering about your suit, those gloves, they appear to be doing a pretty good job at giving the illusion of being covered in short fuzz. What kind of material are they, and what sort of glove are they? I have been looking for a way of making suit gloves look like fuzzy hands without being all huge and clunky, and this is pretty close to the effect I'd like to achieve.

On the suit as a whole though that's looking quite nice.

Thank you kindly!
Those hands were a quick stand in (I now have finished my compact hand paws). The gloves were just black satin, and I was wearing a pair of microfiber armwarmers on top (which were a little fuzzy.)

That's an amazing use-your-own-eye-mask. I love it.

You looked great in this suit at FC! And I love the picture at bottom right; Nox looks like she's about to snatch some of those jewels.

Thank you! The lady was looking at me like I was nuts. I was genuinely looking a the pretty jewelry. I don;t wear a lot of it, but I enjoy looking at it.

Yeah, I like looking at jewels and jewelery myself. And maybe the lady was just wondering why someone as lovely as Nox would need to wear jewels?

Take care!

This is absolutely STUNNING! I've never seen a black fursuit photograph so well! The eye area is expertly done, normally they are cut too close to the eye, makign them dark black "holes' when photographed, no eyes visible! I'm glad you cut wide enough to allow light in, yet were still able to get such a seamless look! Please do tell: How exactly did you do the hair floof? I would love to try that on one of my suits. And that long black fur on the tail, where could I aquire some?

Thank you so much! I knew that I would loose a lot of detail in her being all black, so I tried to make sure that she'd have an awesome silhouette, so it wouldn't matter quite as much. The fact that the character is an assassin totally helps, as she's basically invisible anyway. *grins*

The hair is fake hair (jumbo braid), that I hot glued to a heavy textured spandex base. This is just the raw placement- I didn't have time to trim and style before the con, but I was careful to avoid any blunt ends when putting the hair in, so it looked fine. I started in the front, and laid the hair in layers going toward the back of the head, paying careful attention to hair direction and length.

I believe the long black is fox fur from Cr's crafts. I've had it for a while, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Thank you again for the nice comment! I really appreciate the feedback.

Textured spandex base?! Brilliant! Why didnt' I think of that when I made that lion puppet?!

But what, pray tell, do you mean by "textured" spandex? I didn't know there was such a thing.

It's a very lovely black fur...I'll see if I can aquire some. Thank you so much!

And no problem, it was a pleasure!

If you can't find rough spandex, then control top pantyhose work!
