Description I felt the Earth jump sideways
On a normal seeming day
I'm not sure others felt it
Or they didn't want to say
I was walking looking forward
And it made no "pop" or "crack"
But it all just jolted over
Like the World had jumped its track
And for all I know we're spinning off
(As far as I can tell)
I'm glad I'm here to let you know it
Thank you, and farewell...
=================================
This kinda thing ever happen to you?
Oh well never mind, 1 of 3 (or maybe 4) in this book I'm not gonna have any fun making

Steam Punk! I'm glad you got that! it's what my partners on the project were going for and I had never really heard of it before hand. Wasn't sure if I could properly execute than one.

Interesting idea to give him one of those old car-driving outfits people wore when the first cars were available. This makes it look as if the earth is still a very early model and soon out of fashion in a way. But hey, fashion DOES jump sideways a lot.

Btw: Felt the world jump sideways in more than one way already. ^^ One was something like an earthquake but very short. Called Erdstoss here. <.< No idea what the English word could be. As if someone had given the earth a kick. Oo
And... saw the word being rattled a lot in other ways too. ^^ Never on a real big basis (thank god?) but we humans like to have drama around us.

Btw: Just one thing I'm personally a bit bothered by. The handles that connect have a lot of junctions that will not bring anything at all. I know it is for style factor only most likely but I would suggest to try to find pictures of old cars to get those done more believably. ^^

Yeah thanks for the suggestions, I probably would have payed closer attention to the mechanics of it if I had more time and it wasn't being done for a class I'm really not enjoying at the moment, but hey, the last meeting is today, so now I'll get to find out what the instructor thinks of it.
Earthquakes! Ah I'd hate to experience a bad one. Probably will at some point in the future as I'll probably be living in California some day. Can't imagine, I've heard some scary things, like how it can shake concrete apart into dust then get solid again so that things sink into it and get stuck inside. That gives me chills...

Crossing my fingers for you. ^^ I know how it sucks when you actually want to do more but you don't have the time for it. Actually, I'm pretty glad not to have made it a job by now: Gives me as much time as I want for a drawing. Even though I DO try to finish some stuff weekly.

And no, not an earthquake. We have those too but the other thing is shorter. Only... like a push. As if someone gave reality a kick. Leo says it's a Seismic Shock. Not sure if that's the word but it sounds just like it's what I had been searching.

And yes, I agree on earthquakes there. It's... frightening to no end to know that you have absolute no power over what is to come.

A push? sounds weird... Maybe I should look it up.

drachenmagier In reply to TheBalloonMan [2009-05-05 05:36:23 +0000 UTC]

Yes. It does not last like a normal earthquake but is very short, a single motion in one direction, one can say.

Btw, we had a small earthquake tonight. <.< I hate it when such stuff wakes me. Ok, I figured it had to be one since my home was rattling. XD

Jeez, sounds quite epic over there! Only experienced about 3 in my entire life and they were all so subtle "Hey, was that an earthquake just now?" "I don't know... maybe."

drachenmagier In reply to TheBalloonMan [2009-05-05 06:24:18 +0000 UTC]

XD Actually, it's the same around here. Earthquakes are rare even though we HAD a few big ones that are told about in history books. One destroyed Zurich about... what was that? 300 Years ago? 200? Something like that. Not sure anymore.
Normally it's more a light shake and you'll get that it had to be an earthquake when you realize that no one is sitting on the same table when you thought that some idiot shake it. XD

drachenmagier In reply to TheBalloonMan [2009-05-09 06:52:30 +0000 UTC]

Actually... it's so short that you normally don't even have time to be scared while it's happening. XD

Btw, newspapers on the next day... *rolls eyes* We're allllll going to die because of the horrbile 10+ earthquakes that will now surely follow.
...
Gotta love headlinejunkies. <.<

It's really awesome - as usual!
I love the pattern in the colours of his coat and face and all. Really suits the drawing.
And the almost-impossible-to-draw-machinery looks amazing as well! Plus I love how you drew the Earth. Juast amazing.

No but that is just the thing I like. It's like... the water level has rose so much that most of the world is under water now!! That's a rather strong message, isn't it?

(Sorry, I felt like hugging ^^)
