i notice that your lines are black, but in the final output the black lines are different colors depending on the skin color of the character or the color of the fabric. what is your process for changing the color of the lines. i was drawing my lines with separate colors but as you can imagine that takes up too much time.
just curious how you change the color of the line without damaging it. thanks!

I would recommend playing with layer settings on the lines layer.
all the best with that!

ok so this is not usually the type of art i gravitate to, i will be honest. but if you look at my gallery you will notice that i dont do colors and that is sort of the bane of my artistic existance. color and use of just kind of escape my grasp. but as i am looking at your gallery esp this one here. i can sort of feel the onion layers peeling back. these have been an emmense help to me. thank you for that. btw that has got to be the most awesome ghost rider i have ever seen

Fuck, I'm struggling to go from grayscale to color, doesn't matter what layer mode I use, my colors come out weird. Seeing this is like inspiration and "god damn i suck" rolled into one feeling.

It looks like the blacks differ between characters. You might want to sample a few areas.

I really like looking at your artwork process.
Specially, this one was fun to look at because it had lot of characters interacting between them.
Btw, shading Shuma in that way maybe was a pain for you, but as an spectator I can say it's fucking badass.

EdgeKagami [2012-10-01 00:58:08 +0000 UTC]
Hi, sorry to ask silly question, but between step 5 -> 6, how do you make the dark ink-lines disappear?
For example, on at the edges of Strider's hair where the light hits, the line in (5) was very clear, but in (6), it disappear. It makes the overall image smoother looking.
Thanks!

Hey I really dig the walk through, did you attach a gradient to the shadows to add color to create more depth? I've been trying to recreate it and haven't had any luck.
