Description "Pleasure to meet you" (An Introduction)

I am so pleased to meet you on my way,
But I can't stay for much longer than this,
The chains that held me fast have fell away,
To let me reach above this small abyss.

You smile politely like you understand,
But frankly do you really give a damn?
Like weary travellers we must now disband,
And move on to what is life's next exam.

It's therefore been such an experience,
One that, I know, I can't ever regret.
Like strangers passing on a summer's night,
I can't remember much but it felt right.

This is so true of when people first meet and ask how the other person is like they really care. I don't think they listen nor want to hear the truth if the person is not alright. It would be nice if they did, though.
