Description
As soon as i saw this reference picture [link] , i knew i wanted to draw it. I love the strong contrast in it & the lighting. Although she doesn't look exactly like the girl in the reference pic, I'm happy with the result.Charcoal on A4 bristol.

Taken a look at your entire gallery. Some great pieces, but this is without a doubt my favourite. It's got everything: technical mastery, powerful expression, a great model... Definitely your best picture, in my opinion

Well, some things aren't 100% true to the model (the lighting on the lower lip for instance), but that's only apparent if you put both side-by-side and study them with a magnifying glass

lol yes...For some reason, I'm never able to make my drawings look exactly like the reference pic, or exactly how i want them to be...So i try to keep on improving... Thankyou

I was really amazed when I saw this for the first time, and I still am. Obviously the main difference between your drawing and the reference photo - which, by the way, is awesome too - is that the contrast in yours is much higher, the lines stronger. The expression on the models' face therefore is getting harder too, not as soft and tender as in the reference, but way more bitter, even angry.
Technically, your drawing is very well executed. It's wonderful how many shades you did, how detailed, unerring, immaculate and pure you did it with the difficult means of charcoal. From what I've seem from your gallery, this one is one of the most realistic; close to it just The Depp Impact .
The only thing that I have to criticize is the area of the lips and the lower part of the nose. In my opinion, the lines are a too strong here, so that this part looks a bit artificial. However, it's just a little detail, not disturbing the picture as a whole in its brilliance.
