Although i am inclined to agree with you Americans. Mustache is a much clearer way of spelling it. It even feels right reading it because that fits how you pronounce it.
I always read the UK version "Moustache" As "Mouse-Tache" Funny as the mental image of a mouse with a mustache is.. it doesn't feel right to read. I am converted. AWAY WITH THE "O" !! the mental image of a mouse with a mustache can stay.
