I didn't have high hopes after the Star Wars franchize was swallowed up by our overlord Nicholas the Rodent. But Rebels is actually good. It's a bit like a mixture of classic Star Wars (make it pre-classic, lots of Ralph McQaarrie inspired stuff there), Firefly and Pirates of the Dark Water (90's kids will know this latter one). The character dynamics is quite good and the pilot's Jedi reveal scene (Kanan VS the Stromtroopers) made me love this series.I know a lot of hardcore Warsies complain about Rebels, and yeah, they did re-use Alladdin, but who cares? I mean, Ahsoka herself started out as a character for the target audience and she evolved into a rather complex figure, out-shining Anakin on many occasions! Let's give Ezra some time to learn the was of the Force.
Anyway, yaddie-yaddie-yadda aside, here's my model of the Ghost, the Rebels' starship. I hope I got her right, didn't have too much reference, and the details were different on almost all of them. I will release this model, which includes a detatchable Phantom attack shuttle and animated landing legs. I hope you like her!

I think you did a 4.0 job on this image. It's spot on, and has a wonderful tone and colours in the late evening sky. I saw a side by side image today of the Millennium Falcon and the Ghost. I was surprised by the size differential in the two ships. Great work, and best of luck in your future endeavors.

Oh nice! I'm looking forward to seeing the released version teehee.. I've been looking and loooking to help out with a storyline/fan-fiction thing in my head for a long time but obviously wanted to keep various elements.. (I'm not entirely sure what this will turn into lol) but so far... I've started a "movie poster" like picture. Needs a bit more work and a few additional ships *hint* (haha)

I like your image a great deal. Great shadowing and cloudscape, as well. Although the design may be somewhat reminiscent of the Falcon, I think the Ghost has more of the feel of a true working freighter, unlike the Falcon which seemed more of a souped up hot rod.
Moreover, I think the Ghost has more of a look not dissimilar to a ship I have seen designated as a Corellian Defender Class Light Corvette. The crew of misfits compliment each other, as most close-knit crews did in war and peace. Unlike the Clone Wars, the show is great in that it incorporates the feel of a crew/family trying to maintain there own identity and serve their chosen role in fomenting the rebellion, while caring about the group.Β

Yeah, I like that family/crew concept as well. Lifted outta Firefly, I think, but it works in Rebels as well. I liked Clone Wars too and its ending (the real ending, not that halfassed Season 6) was superb, Ahsoka's departure having much more emotional impact than ROTS.

Looks good! I wasn't prepared for Star Wars Rebels to be good, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It does have a Firefly vibe to it; the plucky rebel against a totalitarian regime. I understand the character Zeb was based on early concept art for Chewbacca, so I'm wondering if the Ghost wasΒ based on early Falcon designs.

My son started watching Rebels and I ummed a lot (he'd liked Clone Wars).Β But its actually pretty good, and I'm glad I'm not the only one to see the Firefly influences.

Yeah, it has lots of Firefly in it. Even the interior ship design is a lot like Serenity.
