I first starting listening to Bill Hicks when I was at University. A friend gave me a copy of his old work. This was in 2003, nine years after his death of pancreatic cancer.

In many ways, Bill became more than just someone who made me laugh when I was going through rough times. He was more than a comedian. He was a wise man of sorts, a social philosopher and helped me construct my own personal politics and philosophies about life.

I wish I had been old enough to see one of his shows. And in this new generation where much of what he said is repeating itself, we need more people like him.

I miss you mate.
