I thought I would treat myself and finish this up since I finished a commission earlier
I want to use this guy more often since he's pretty fun, and his old ref was positively HORRENDOUS and I'm probably going to go delete it once I'm done posting this

Full name: Svaan Atley Marsh
Nickname(s): Savvy, Stupid, "the dumb kid with the hat," pretty much any curse word
Physical Characteristics: Not very tall or very strong, Svaan is terrible in hand-to-hand fighting. Instead, he tends to rely on simply running away from any sort of conflict, whether that means heading down a street, out a window, or off a rooftop.
Personality: Svaan is an utter coward. Even though he's not actually as dim-witted as people give him credit for, he tends to run from his problems rather than actually dealing with them. He isn't the most trustworthy, and since he isn't particularly well-equipped for taking care of himself, he tends to try and talk and/or scheme himself out of poor situations, even though neither strategy ever works out very well for him. He also tends to play naive when confronted, not because he's dull (he is actually far from it), but because he's been on the run from his past for so long that he trusts very few people. He also tends to feign both confidence and arrogance, but that's more to fool himself than anyone else. Yet despite his obvious flaws, he has a good sense of humor, can laugh at his own mistakes (which he makes a lot of) and usually makes fairly good company to those that can get past his wary, suspicious exterior.
Brief history: Svaan has never been brave, so when he was dragged into the army through the draft, he did the only thing his cowardly mind could comprehend. He deserted. That earned him a death sentence from his home nation, which he has been doing his best to avoid ever since. Unable to return to his family, Svaan has been wandering for years, drifting in and out of cities and odd jobs, and trying to avoid the authorities searching for him. He's turned to stealing and other dishonest work more than once, which has been piling up even more sentences against him. Unable to stay rooted, he's found himself in many dangerous circles, and can never really keep himself out of trouble.
