I've been wanting to submit another oc to OW for a while, and now that I'm pretty sure I can handle a second character, I'm jumping on the opportunity ovoI hope he's okay. ; v ;

π BASIC INFORMATION
Name: Leith Zabat
Age: His species ages very slowly, so although Leith looks to be about 20, he's actually just shy of 200 years old.
Birthday: January 24th (Aquarius)
Height: 5'10"
Species: Water Dragon
Species Description:
Leith belongs to a sub-species of dragon that has an affinity for water, rather than the more widely known (and common) fire-elemental dragons. His lineage is of pure (water dragon) blood, making his family a sort of royalty among those of his species.
Because water dragons make their home in bodies of water (lakes, rivers, oceans, etc.), very few members of this species have wings, and Leith is no exception. His dragon form is more streamlined than other members of the dragon family, as it is built for swimming, rather than flight.
Abilities:
Β Β β’ Basic watermancy: A very specific sort of magic is associated with his species, and it gives him the natural ability to manipulate water. Leith is very much out of practice with this skill, and therefore, can only accomplish basic tasks, such as: moving and/or levitating water, and using it to form small shapes.
Β Β β’ Shapeshifting: The ability to shift in, and out, of a dragon form. Because it is more-or-less his natural form, dragonshifting is second nature to Leith. In comparison to most dragons, his form is slightly smaller, so out of embarrassment he tries to refrain from shifting while in the company of others.

π PERSONAL INFORMATION
Likes:
- Bodies of water: oceans, rivers, lakes, and the like. Perhaps it's because it reminds him of home, but those sorts of places never fail to put Leith at ease.
- By extension, he's rather fond of water in general, and his favourite weather is when it's raining.
- Also, cold weather in general. Maybe it's because he's used to living in water, but Leith does well in the cold.
- Books, books, books- he's a bit of an information sponge. Leith also adores fiction, although he's never really had the opportunity to read much of it.
- Has a small weakness for docile animals, but there's a special place in his heart for birds.
- His absolute favourite food of all time is seafood. All of it.
- His dragon form, although it's not so much a dislike as something that makes him self-conscious.
- Violence. Knowing self-defense is one thing, but actually having to draw blood.... So long as he has a choice, he would like to leave fighting to the people who actually enjoy that sort of thing, thank you.
- Leith likes his personal space, which means that he highly DISLIKES when people invade it. Friends are an exception, but strangers? No.
- When people touch his ears. Yes, strange as they look, he can feel it when people touch the fins attached to the side of his head. it's a very uncomfortable feeling he would rather avoid.
- Hot drinks: like tea and coffee. His tongue is really sensitive to heat, so it's easy for it to burn.
- Is relatively level-headed, making it possible for him to calmly make decisions, even under moments of stress. (Unless the decision is related to something on a personal level)
- Despite how common his slip-ups might be, the training Leith has endured enables him to keep a poker-face when its most important.
- High endurance. It takes quite a bit to tire him out- a result of bottled up energy, perhaps.
- Has a good immune system, so he doesn't often get sick.
- He doesn't do well in large groups, and has the tendency to freeze up. Leith will try to remove himself from the situation, but if it's not possible he'll endure, speaking as little as possible.
- Fairly insecure, even when it comes to things that he knows he is good at. Makes it difficult to perform at his best when stressed out, or in front of an audience.
- Physically, Leith is more on the frail side. He can't take very many hits, and his own punches are nothing to brag about. Cherishing intellect over physical ability, he's never been much of a warrior, and therefore has to rely on his magic in a fight.
- Relating to the above point, he is only good at water magic. So if he's against someone who knows how to hold their own against the element, he's screwed.
- To become more efficient with magic, in general. Perhaps in time this will apply to water magic (when he actually decides to pursue a course in the elementalism department), but he's currently interested in expanding his magical knowledge, and hopes to learn about new types! Also, a degree would be great.
- Becoming strong enough to protect himself and the people he cares about.
- Hopes to reunite with his family one day soon, or at least hear word from them to know that they're okay-
- Becoming a disappointment. A weakling who is nothing but an embarrassment to his family- Not being able to reach the hopes and expectations that they have for him.
- Speaking about family, Leith worries about his constantly. Everyday he hopes for the best, but he's absolutely terrified of losing anyone and everyone important to him. For him, loneliness is worse than death.
- Flying. Heights. Falling from heights- Leith's never been on an airplane, and never has any intention to do so. Despite being embarrassed about his lack of wings, he's is pretty sure that he doesn't have them for a reason.
- Other dragons. Where he comes from, most dragons only get along with those of the same elemental typing. As a result, it's been ingrained in him to be wary of non-water types.
- Stone-faced (At least he tries to be--)
- Reserved
- Insecure
- Passionate
Which has a lot to do with where his insecurities come from. Growing up as the second son, Leith always felt under pressure to perform his absolute best. He was the back-up, should anything happen to his oldest brother, and therefore had to act and think accordingly. Despite his own talents, he never felt like it was possible to live up to the expectations placed on him. And it was for this reason he found solace in the company of his siblings. It was with them he was allowed to goof off and be himself; it was being with them that fed his excitable nature. But that is a thing of the past and, the company of strangers requires one to compose themself differently than with family. Because he hasn't had the opportunity to interact with many people, he can be a bit hesitant in social interactions: preferring one-on-one conversations, to group environments.
Despite his discomfort in large groups, Leith actually cares quite a bit about other people, and what they think. It's part of why he tries so hard to keep up his facade- to come across as cool, when in reality he's actually a pretty big dork.
History:
This desperately needs to be rewritten, and I'm hoping to do that with Leith's next app update. QvQ It's generally the same as before, and Leith's family is still of high social standing, but they're no longer nobility~
The home that he hails from is a land inhabited by dragons, divided into sections based on the element each sub-species had an affinity towards. And although for centuries the land had been known as a place of peace, this was a reality Leith would never know, because long before the was born, the second child to a family of pure-blood water dragons, the realm had entered a period of war. And for this reason, for most of his young life, Leith was conditioned to become a leader -the second in line, should his father and eldest brother fall. Although he never had any interest in fighting, instead preferring to turn his attention to knowledge; to strategy, he was taught the art of combat, in both his human and dragon forms. It was a strict upbringing, but all four of the siblings endured, for the sake of the outside world they'd never been allowed to see.
When word reaches the castle of an intended ambush, Leith and his youngest brother are forced to flee their homeland, where it is decided that they are to lay low until the conflict dies down. Or, in the worst case scenario, should all those in the castle perish, the family will still have an heir. It is during the escape that the family is betrayed by its servant, who hands off the brothers to a group of slave traders. For months they were forced to travel with the band, until a stranger ambushes the caravan. It is through this madness that Leith is able to escape, but when he had finally made it to safety, he found that he has been separated from his brother. Hiding, but refusing to leave, Leith desperately waits for the other, but is persuaded to move on when his masked savior from before makes a reappearance.
Told that his brother had been lost (was he dead or had he escaped to elsewhere? It wasn't clear), Leith is prompted by the stranger to continue to safety, and await news from his family as was originally planned. He was informed that his home had been captured, although it was unknown whether the rest of his family had been killed, kidnapped, or, by some stroke of luck, managed to escape--
Knowing that his abilities still left much to be desired, Leith came to the realization that he not only needed a safe haven, but somewhere to improve his abilities. Or perhaps, a place where he could gain new abilities all together. Hearing this, the stranger prompts him to go to Otherworlde. It didn't seem possible to change the past, but at least this way he could strive towards a brighter future.
Misc. Information:
- When people think dragon they tend to think "big, terrifying thing with wings" and well, Leith's dragon form has none of that. He's really self-conscious about his lack of wings, and tries to avoid dragonshifting in front of people whenever possible.
- If it wasn't obvious by this point, his family is his world. He's a little nervous about being forced to expand his horizons, and interact with new people like this.
- When speaking to someone he sees as his superior, Leith will default into a more polite form of speech as a sign of respect. Around those he's comfortable with, however, he'll be a little more casual.
- Due to the training from his youth, he is capable of using a sword. But will only do so under dire circumstances.
- Has three siblings: two brothers (one older, one younger), and a sister, all of whom he adores.

Either way. Though I actually have two other chars in the work if you want to rp with either of them. One is a magician who uses cards to summon elements. The other is actually a demon/Mage hunter who is "undercover" for an order that wants to cleanes the world of them. Though he'll discover he's actually half angel later on. Of course if you choose Xio that's fine to ^.^ I prefer script and would love to hear your opinion on Xio as well. I am headed to bed soon.

You decided to go with CHR ad LIN in the end! I think it's a really good fit for him, especially considering that he's more of a strategist rather than a fighter.
I find it really cool how most of his likes and dislikes revolve around the fact that he grew up surrounded by water. I was just thinking: can he breathe underwater in his human form??

I know you were having trouble with it, but I think you did a great job with his history! I know that you wanted to keep it vague, and you gave us just enough information to explain how Leith ended up at Otherworlde, as well as glimpses of his family and home-life. That being said, I really hope that you reveal more about him through some art or writing! I also want to know what happened to his baby brother!! D:

Goodness, we're delving back into my dragon-drawing years, are we? xD Pretty sure I'm really rusty (just look at Cordelia cry), but I do want to try drawing his dragon form at some point. Because it's really slim and graceful. ; v ;
I'm actually really happy with the class choices in the end, although I wonder which department he'll end up trying to get a degree for-- Chronomancy, probably? Linguistics really suits him though too.... otl But I have still have time to figure that out~
They'll be more likes/dislikes popping up by the time that he's in his second year, but because water's made up such a huge part of his life, it seems fitting that's where most of them came from. ; v ; I've haven't actually given the breathing under water part much thought- But I think that he'd sort of be able to? For a limited amount of time, since he does have human lungs, but I do imagine that his magic/natural affinity for water would enable him to stay under water for much longer than your average person!
You would probably get slapped; and then apologized to. Because slapping is kind of an automatic reaction;; his ears are really sensitive. :'D
Hnnnnnng I'm really glad that you find him to be so different from Clem. Tbh that was probably what was at the forefront of my mind the entire time I was typing up the bio. QvQ

His family very literally makes up his entire life, so I think it makes sense that they make up such a huge part of who he is. ; v ; Hnnnnnng makes me really excited for when he has a family of his own
Ah, thank you! I was worried the most about the backstory, but I'm glad it makes at least a little bit of sense. Don't worry about being kept in the dark about the rest of it, though. xD I do plan to reveal little bits and pieces every so often- because that's actually my favourite part about keeping some bits of a character's history vague~ It's a little slow-moving, but people can learn about it through what I submit, or rps~
