Description Days 9 and 10 for I've been doing a lot of things with friends lately so I didn't have as much time to put together a string of all of the related creatures like the past 2 submissions, but there are more sea dwellers to come!

Cephloids
After The Calamity , when humanity went into hiding, the mages of water who were close to the seas knew there would be no better place for isolation and secrecy than at the bottom of the watery depths that they revered and based their craft around. However, when attempting to move deeper into the seas, the humans found themselves face to face with a scientific barrier that countered their magical efforts of colonization: Water Pressure. While the mages could use their magics to manipulate the flow of the waters and allow themselves to breathe, they could only go so far before the crushing weights of the waters above became too intense to continue. From here the mages divided into two paths, the Merfolk who wanted to hold onto their humanity as much as possible, and the Cephloids, who used their magics to undergo a ritual that made them shed most of their human like traits in order to become more like the octopus, whose squishy bodies allowed for the cephloids to delve much deeper into the depths. As a caveat they also gave up their lungs for gills and can now no longer leave the waters they call home.

Cephloids have human-like appendages as well as eight octopus tentacles with 4 on the head and 4 towards the legs. Many Cephloids do not wear clothing, and instead lock their head tentacles into different positions and formations, much like having a hair style, in order to stand out individually. They also commonly wear a variety of undersea accessories in order to stand out as well, although none are depicted here. While the origin positions of the tentacles are locked in place, cephloids can control the lengths at which their tentacles protrude, allowing them to play around with different widths. Some Cephloids have even developed special creams using their magics and deepwater ingredients to alter the length of these tentacles. While their facial tentacles are mainly used for display, they are still functioning appendages that can be used for certain tasks. Many cephloids use the font-most ones to aid with eating.
The bottom 4 tentacles are used far more often as appendages, and rest idle against the cephloid's legs when not in use. The female's tentacles drape down like a dress due to having to move over her enlarged lower regions, which is where female cephloids store their eggs. Yeah, they lay eggs, I could've mentioned that further up but I forgot to.

Cephloids, while their default colors vary between blue-ish purple to the reddish-pink depicted here, can actually change the colors of their skin like other octopi to be masters of disguise, although one of the things that gives them away occassionally are the accessories that they wear.
