Description Found in the oceans of warmer climates, The Manta Ray is actually a close relative of the shark, however unlike it's cousins, the Shark and even the stingray who have poison barbs in their tails known as barbs, Manta Ray's are gentle giants who don't attack unless provoked and mainly eat a diet of shrimp, plankton, crabs and fish. Their appearance has given the nickname, the Devilfish, and when they swim it kind of looks like their actually flying. Sadly this species is endangered due to overfishing, pollution and their gills being used for traditional Chinese medicines.
