I was helping Professor Oak with some things. Like moving boxes around the lab. It was tedious and rather boring but it was worth it because I loved to play with the pokémon out back.

Professor Oak and I made a deal. I’d help him at the lab and I’d get to play with the pokémon out back. It was childish yes but with that I did get to see my crush a lot.

Green Oak. Professor Oak’s grandson. He was two years older than me so I don’t think he usually thought of me as anything but a lab assistant who too care of his pokémon.

Besides he was usually away in Viridian City anyway. He’d come over on weekends, like now. But he was a gym leader so he had to attend to that.

I felt kinda creepy though. I’ve had this crush on him since I met him. And it only got worse the more I got to know him. And I knew stuff about him that those girls he dated would never know.

Like that his cool ego was nothing and he was really lovable. Like a giant Teddiursa. Cute and cuddly. He’d act like nothing fazed him but some of the stuff Gold said really bugged him.

He would cry sometimes when he was here. When no one was looking. But I always went up to him and asked him what was wrong. He’d usually tell me and then he’d put his head on my lab while I rubbed his head. Then he would act like nothing happened or He’d fall asleep.

This happened a lot around the time his Raticate died. I went to Lavender Town with him. Mostly because I had to get something for Professor Oak but I went with Green and he went there. I followed him and he told me everything about Raticate.

It was after a battle with Red. Green thought he’d be fine but when it got to the pokémon center and Nurse Joy took care of his pokémon, it then died on the examination table. After that Green went every year on it’s passing for his fallen friend. I thought that was so sweet of him.

The girls Green dated would never see his ups and downs. They only cared about his looks and popularity. Not him. Not his feelings. They wouldn’t see past his ego. Not to what was really worth it.

Right now Green was actually at the desk behind me with Professor Oak. They were talking about some Unova pokémon. I didn’t really understand any of it. Mostly because I wasn’t paying attention.

“Green!” Professor Oak yelled. I heard Green jump and I knew I did.

“Huh? Sorry I was distracted,” Green said.

“Well you were staring off into space again,” The professor said. “You haven’t really been paying attention all day. Are you alright?”

“Y-Yeah. Like I said just distracted . . . with the gym. You know how it can get. With all the paper work and all,” Green said nervously.

“Right,” the professor said not buying it. “I’ll be right back.” He got up. “(Name) are you alright too? You’re not spacing out too are you?”

I stopped and looked at him. “N-No, it’s just I can’t get these even,” I said.

“Well take it easy alright. I don’t want you to fall,” he said and then he left.

I went back to focusing on how to get these books back. It was awkward silence for a little bit. Until I felt a hand on my back.

“Easy, you’re going to fall, (Name),” Green said.

I gasped and quickly turned. Sure enough he was holding me. But I hit the bookshelf and it made the bookshelf wobble. Green quickly took me away and it fell on the ground. So did we. He landed on top of me with books all around us.

Green groaned. “A-are you alright, Green?” I asked.

“I’m fine,” he said. “What about you, (Name)?”

“I’m fine. Thank you.” He tried getting off of me but was stuck. Our necklaces were intertwined. He yanked again. “That’s not going to work, Green. Here, let’s sit up and I’ll fix this.”

We sat up and he leaned against the desk. I bent over to get closer to him. He moved me so I was on his lap. I blinked a few times. “You can get a better angle on my lap,” Green said. It was so hard not to shiver at his voice right then.

“R-Right,” I said as I worked on our necklaces.

“You smell kind nice, (Name). New Perfume?”

“N-No,” I said. “It’s just (favorite Perfume or one you wear a lot).”

“Ahh,” he said. “Well it smells nice.”

It got hard to focus because he was just staring at me. His gaze was hard to not notice and he was acting kind of weird tonight.

“So,” Green said. “Have you ever heard of that people should make the best of a bad situation?” he asked.

“Yeah, why?” I asked.

He made me look at him and lifted my shin. He held my cheek. He leaned in and kissed me. He held the back of my head and my back. I relaxed into him and kissed him back.

I felt in bliss. I was so hot and it felt amazing. His lips were so warm and soft. I felt safe in his arms. I didn’t want to leave them. I got closer to him and put my hands on his shoulders as he put his on my back.

He then licked the bottom of my lip and I opened my mouth. He went inside my mouth and searched his new playground. Our tongues swirled around and I begain to see so bothered and warm.

I moaned and he kissed me harder. He then went from my lips to my neck. Kissing me all along the way. I moaned and it seemed to only encourage him.

He pulled back. “(Name) . . . please . . . say my name,” he said.

“Green,” I moaned. He then went back to my lips and then kissed me again. I shivered under his touch and moaned. “G-Green.”

He backed off and we panted. We stared in each other’s eyes. Him in my (Eye color) and me in his emerald eyes. “I think we made the best out of that situation. Don’t you?”

“Y-Yeah,” I said.

He smiled. “So then what now?”

“We’re still tied together,” I said. “I should fix that.” I messed with them for a little and it was fixed. Our necklaces went back to our necks.

“Well anytime you want to get our necklaces tangled, I’d love for that to happen again,” he said. He kissed my lips softly and gently. I blushed and he smiled. “You’re really cute, (Name).”

“G-Green,” I said.

“So then, you want to go out?” he asked. I nodded and he smiled again. “Good.”

We got up and as soon as we were up Professor Oak came in and looked at the mess. “What the . . . what happened?” He asked.

“Don’t worry about it,” Green said. “We’ll clean it up. At least I’m not distracted anymore.” He touched my lower back and I jumped. “Right, (Name)?”

“Y-Yeah,” I said. “We’ll clean it up, Professor. Sorry.”

He shook his head. “Just clean it up,” he said and then left.

Green bent down to my ear. “So how about we clean this up and then we make out later?”

“I like that idea,” I said.

“Than let’s get started so we can get to the fun part,” he said. And we begain cleaning though it wasn’t very productive since Green took every chance he could to kiss me.

Like Green said we should make the best of a bad situation. And we sure did.
