Description This is a sketch of a "gridship" - not too sure about what it would do ... perhaps a deep space, long range fighter of sorts - a bit long in the tooth, too.

A gridship sounds like a patrol craft that monitors some kind of defense grid, or the borders of its native territory.

Perhaps rapid & silent insertion of special forces and/or deploying static assets such as mines or sensor buoys in high-risk areas? Hence the name grid ship-once you see one, someone out there's about to get a comms grid going-or is about to lose it.

This fighter looks as though it would be well suited for planetary defense, militia usage, and as a training craft.

it could just be the paint job, but this looks to me like the predecessor to the Viper class of starfighters from battlestar galactica. Maybe its a Cobra or Python series fighter ?

How about a two man freighter: built and flies like a starfighter, carrying capacity of a freighter, two man crew, armed for a dogfight, medium to low level of maintenance, integrated FTL system, folds wings for easy parking and storage, and lot of potential for modification (weapons, accommodations, systems, sensors, skies the limit). Thats what I think it could be, drawing on the star wars part of my brain, the ship is really cool, star wars esque, in a good way. Great job regardless, thumbs up.

im seeing some kind of armour-piercing gun carrier thing... designed to fire explosive shells that will penetrate the armour of transports and bunkers etc, while having the speed and agility to match a fighter
