I love the colors and the color schemes though, they're really creative! Amazing job.

Hi there!
I'm from ProjectComment!

I've read what the other commenter said, so I'll try not to repeat what they said.
Going straight into it, Your use of watercolor is absolutely stunning, this face by far is the best thing I've seen, though I feel like from where the head is positioned (I assume at 3/4th) The eyes, mouth, and nose seem to be facing forward, but I belie the previous commenter already talked about this so I'll continue on, but I would suggest looking at LauraHollingsworth's Eye Tutorial at 3/4 View and Profile  (I thought this was really helpful and highly recommend looking at this!)
Another thing I would like to point out is the cloth, I feel like a lot of details was lost in the cloth (Robe?) and I feel as though it's blending into the background (more with the left side of the cloth than the right) I think maybe making it look more like the left side could've helped with that.
but overall this piece is very beautiful and you did a fantastic job on controlling the watercolors, I can't' wait to see how you improve in the future, and from what I've seen in your gallery you're already very talented!

Hello! I’m here from ProjectComment.

I’ve never been able to control watercolors, so my first impression of this piece was how well you did that – there aren’t any obvious spots where the color flowed someplace you didn’t want it to, and you’re showing some impressive control here (granted, I’m not a water colorist so I may not know what I’m talking about, but still). I love the color pallet you used for the woman, especially how it moves from darker to lighter across the page. And the use of the starlight on the left side of her veil is just gorgeous.

In addition to her veil, what strikes me about this piece is her eyes. They are absolutely gorgeous. I love the differing shades and tones within them – they’re just beautiful.

Now, for what you might want to focus on in the future, I feel like her nose and the upper right portion of her forehead stand out among the rest of her features as being slightly out of line. Her mouth and eyes make me want to think she’s looking slightly to the left of me, but her nose is more straight onward. Her upper right forehead, I think, just wanders over to our left a bit too much, and should probably turn back to the right before it goes further left than her cheek.  I imagine it’s tough to control watercolors, but, judging from your pencil sketch fo the same piece, this was something that got away from you early on. It’s not a huge deal – this piece looks fine, but I imagine your future ones will look crazy good if you keep that sort of thing in mind.

So, all in all, I’m really impressed with how you controlled and used the paints, and I think you have a great chance to make some incredible stuff if you work on the proportions and angles at the sketching stage a little bit. Thank you for sharing this with the group.!

That’s all I have, but if there was anything you were hoping to get a comment on that I missed, just let me know and I’ll try to swing back for another look.

Kevin

I really love how this picture has turned out!. The textures that you have applied are lovely and I especially love how you made the inside of the cloth look like a nebula.

The face and crown look a tad off as the perspective of the crown makes it seem as though the persons head is leaning forwards, however from the the details of the face and the shadows it is apparent that her head is upright which is a little bit jarring.

I think the colours that you utilized are awesome and you intuitively understand the distribution of shadows on the human face.

Overall great work, keep it up!

Oh,my God. This image is stunning. The quality of the painting may not be the best, but even on rough paper,it still manages to have an untold form of beauty. The combination of what seems to be acrylic and watercolor paint blends with both a desaturated and saturated spectrum of colors. The most beautiful part of the painting has to be her eyes. In my opinion, she is truly the Lady of the Heavens.

Thanks for your words! I'm glad you put "The quality of the painting may not be the best" because you successfully shrunk my swollen head from the previous lovely comment    (Yours is lovely, too!)
