A human character of mine.
One of the... *counts*

The other human is Jackie. The two are a couple.
Ryan used to be a drug addict, but managed to quit. Jackie, on the other hand, needs serious help.
She wouldn't go to rehab, especially since the man she worked for was very dangerous and they knew he'd accuse her of snitching and stealing from the stash, and end up getting her killed. This combined with the cycle of narcotic highs, and... lusty habits, she wasn't going to willingly go.
Anyway, there's more on these two that would probably be a pain to read. The basis of the story is that Ryan is trying to help Jackie end her drug addiction before she ends up dying from it.
The story of these two that I typed is literally years old (about 2-3), and actually unfinished.
Some points, looking back at them, genuinely made me tear up. AT MY OWN WRITING

That's a nice dynamic; a character who wants nothing but to help another character who doesn't want to be helped. Good recipe for tears if you can pull it off.
