Also known as "Where the heck is my Chappy and Friends!" and "How do you work this blasted contraption?!"Ichigo must have reprogrammed the remote...I feel sorry for the technically challenged Kuchiki. If she can't open a juice box properly, heaven help her with this! LOL!

I had planned on there being a background, but I'd rather keep things flowing and moving along. The original concept for this involved Rukia playing video games instead, and like with this picture, originally was going to have more than one character. I might revisit the idea in the future and do a bigger, better picture. For now, I just needed to draw and finish something!
This was done in Painter X on my wacom tablet.

No, I'm not currently watching it, but after drawing Rukia I feel like catching up to where I was. I'm tired of being so far behind the times with this series, this one and Naruto.

One thing I have to say: I love her pose and the expression on her face. It's almost pouty as she's pressing the buttons on the remote...XD
The shading's also quite nice, and the pic itself looks lineless. I think the only other thing similar to that might've been Samurai Jack...

When I use a paint style I try to not having any outlines. I've never seen Samurai Jack. What does he have in common to Rukia?

And what I meant to say was that the painting style was similar-Samurai Jack's edges have no sharp end, like with normal shows, and instead match his skin color.
The same thing applies to your painting of Rukia: no lines on the body whatsoever that give it a totally hard edge.

I did have a guy attempt to commission me for 3 different pictures, but he never got back with me....which sucks, I could use the money.

Do you think taking commissions is a good idea? I need money, but the most I would charge is like 5$...I do small sketches, so maybe 7-10$ for a possibly inked one...

For me, I charge based on a number of things. Type of picture, color or no color, background or no background, multiple characters, etc. The more of these things there are, the more the final piece.
I guess to answer your question it depends on what you're willing to offer for what you're charging. If you think what your asking for is reasonable in comparison to the overall work you'd be doing per picture, and you can be consistent with it, then sure, try it out and see what happens.

I think five dollars for a sketch is reasonable to a point. Seven for inking because I have to clean up everything and use the right pens...
And I can't color. XD period.

A basic rule of thumb is to never accept anything less that $5 (unless it's some really quick sketch and they're willing to pay for it). If you're not making even five bucks on a picture, it's not worth your time and resources. It's best to charge in multiples of 5, but that's my opinion. Then, it breaks into a category where it's in multiples of 10 (things like extra characters could be 5 dollars per, but backgrounds and color 10 each, for example).
Since you say you can't color, just basic inking and line art is good enough. Try going with the price you want first, and if no one, or not enough people go for it, think about including the inking for the five dollars.

Yeah, five dollars is decent. I mean, a LOT of people were commissioned back then when they were doing the 5$ commissions. I thought it might be a good idea if I tried my hand.
Plus, need to fuel my gamer-rage. XD Among other things.
On the backgrounds and stuff, that might be a good idea to charge a bit extra. It'd probably be worth my while anyway to see about it.
