Description My first improvement meme!~

I've seen so many of these on deviantart and I just had to do my own because it's so fun to look back on old drawings and laugh! >.<

These are three girl oc's for my sisters old story (one with straight hair, one with wavy hair, and the last with curly hair) and although I can't say I draw well presently, I do think I improved over the years? Hehe!

Anyway, it was fun digging out my old sketchbooks with my sister. I hope you have fun looking at them too. Oh, I don't have any colored images unfortunately. I'm still not a big fan of coloring images...must be the reason why I'm not great at coloring. =_= hm...

haha, sounds like fun! I remember doing the same thing with my younger cousin(digging our old sketchbooks and laughing at how weird it looked)
*cough* anyways, enough about me

that is a really nice improvement! I especially love how the clothes on the last one looked so natural(while the 2005 one looked very stiff and the 2007 one looked a bit too flowy) though the solid lines kinda remind me of coloring books //shot// either ways, it's a really great improvement!

it's also nice to see the characters evolved as if they were growing along with you ^_~

thank you~! yes, it is always fun to look through old stuff... well, and embarrassing at times.

I don't know, I've always loved solid lines~! Is that weird? Probably because I'm really into manga specifically? Think Naruto and Pokemon Special. ^___^

The last piece was done by non brush tip micron pen so it doesn't have the fluidity I have now with different pens, nibs, and inks. I'm still working on it though... and experimenting with different pens and it's so expensive!!! *cries* Though... I'm finding that photoshop is a good alternative.

Thank you for your advice! I still have so much to improve on!

my pleasure

it's completely normal! in fact, I myself enjoy doing so
though, try to make the line even more thinner towards the end(er...I guess I'm just too fond of thin lines )

brush tip micron pen?? I thought this was done digitally so sorry... OTL....anyways, I have not much experience with using different pens yet(the only pen I use for line art-ing my traditional works is my mom's gel pen xD artist pens are too expensive for me OTL) since I do most of my works digitally,
though I really enjoy doing some random scribbles on my school notebooks

I'm glad I could help feel free to ask me if you'll need more help ^_^

Wow, you improved quite a lot but as some advise for the future, you might want to work on doing different face types or different eye types for different characters. It keeps them from all looking the same and it's quite fun to mess around with.

Oh, I'm so glad you figured it out that they are actually the "same" character (twins & alter ego)! No one else pointed that out yet! Yay! I actually have more trouble redrawing the same characters again (they always turn out differently somehow...) so I always use these three characters to practice every couple years!

Thank you for your input!

Really great improvment! So your art teachers complained about thick lines too...Last year our art teacher told me the same thing every time. But who cares,I love ink and thick lines so...

Yeah! I don't think any of my art teachers liked my rigid drawing style. but I swear using thick/rigid lines is an art form too!!

The most annoying is that some art teachers say that cartoons/manga/anime are not art!
