Description Got love for a certain trio of geeks - excuse me, Counterculture Patriots? :B

From left to right: Melvin Frohike, John Fitzgerald Byers and Richard "Ringo" Langly - The Lone Gunmen, of The X-Files, at yer service. My heroes.

They have not nearly enough fans, owing largely to their fun spinoff being pulled by FOX for being "anti-government" (so you just KNOW it was good, right? x3), they are AMAZINGS, and if they were real, I'd be working for them instead of going to a performing arts school. 'Cause while music and drama is great... THEY'RE THE LONE GUNMEN. <3

First stamp, thus it is extraordinarily simple and craptacular, no animation or anything, as I'm not entirely sure how quite yet... but I makes it with LOVES. I'm DEFINITELY going to update this though, with a GOOD ONE at a later date, complete with frames and actually saying WHAT IT IS... I just felt like making something for them. :B

It would be the bomb if they came back somehow in a future movie (since I read that movies are the future of The X-Files at this point).

I know. I was utterly pissed that they were left out of this last one entirely.

Of course, a lot more about that movie pissed me off too.

Same. Rather, I didn't mind the monster-of-the-week-ness of it, I like that, just... Egh. It was really unfulfilling to me (that and the irritating plot points, and homophobic overtones).

I'm so happy to hear ye say that! Seriously, I love seeing other Gunfen running around. <3 Mine too, forever.
Them not being brought back for the second movie was a real tragedy, I thought. It was a perfect opportunity... (I have very serious doubts about them being dead, or even gone forever - hell, how many times have X-Files people "died" and come back? I do have other reasons besides that wishful thinking, but... Sigh.)

Yeah, Scully's just great. >D My favorite Scully-moment without question is in "3 Of A Kind" (the one with the Lone Gunmen in Las Vegas - naturally they'd be at the best moment ever too xD) when she gets injected with the mind-control drug and goes all loopy. xD That's just hilarious!

Jump The Shark does not exist.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSylverLining In reply to IanSquall [2008-07-27 17:33:47 +0000 UTC]

I KNOW, ME TOO. <3 I do NOT consider Jump the Shark canon - or if it is, SERIOUSLY, I don't think they're dead, and this isn't simply out of denial. The very NATURE of the show is conspiracies, and Mulder and Scully have "died" like sixteen times between the two of them and always come back. Why the hell not for the Gunmen? I suspect they're in hiding right now, either because of that mission, or something else HUGE they've stumbled upon.

And 'sides. My special little "proof"? It's a regulation at Arlington Cemetery that all coffins be airtight, to preserve the body and minimize decomposition. That means they have to be custom-made to each one's height and width. We saw all three coffins (NO BODIES, MIGHT I ADD! No body, NO DEATH!) -

WHY the hell wouldn't Frohike's be a hell of a lot shorter than the other two?! If they were IN THERE, it WOULD BE.

I don't think this is simply lazy writing; the writers would (HOPEFULLY ) have known this, I think it's a subtle clue. :B Maybe I'm grasping at INCREDIBLY GEEKY OBSESSIVE STRAWS... but it's nice to think about.

I want. SO. BADLY. For them to come back in this movie. D: They probably won't, but Chris Carter would be missing a PERFECT, FLAWLESS opportunity, no?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IanSquall In reply to TheSylverLining [2008-07-27 17:58:16 +0000 UTC]

I want to believe (ha XD). I never thought about it that way, those are good points I mean, that was just a cheap shot, killing them off like that. There should be something more to it.

But then, they appeared in spirit-form in the last episode of the x files, soo now I'm all confused

'twas upsetting, they're the kind of characters you just expect to be there. There really wasn't a point to that episode, at all. It was filler. Contributed nothing to the plot - they could have just skipped it and the audience would just assume they were off doing what they always do.

You mean the movie that's out right now? I don't mean to ruin it (sorry if I do D: ). No sign of them. The plot didn't really call for it, anyway. BUT I have heard rumors of a third movie that's supposed to deal with the apocalypse of 2012/alien takeover thing. Rumors, but still, who knows? That seems like a perfect time to bring them back.

In the meantime, I'm going to pull the same straws you are and believe they're still alive somehow It's better that way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSylverLining In reply to IanSquall [2008-07-27 18:33:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know, about the spirit-form thing, but I have TWO issues with THAT - firstly, that there's an equal if not better chance that it was all in Mulder's head and they weren't really there, and then - what they said was TOTALLY out of character! Seriously, man - "give it up"? "stop looking for the truth"?! NOT OUR GUNMEN. I dunno WHO those people were, but they were NOT our Fro, John and Ringo. Sure, they might have been doing it out of concern for their friend, but I VERY MUCH DOUBT IT - they were always prepared to give their lives in the search for the truth, and so is Mulder, and they would have KNOWN THAT, and never told him to just QUIT! What the hell?!

xD Sorry. This is a subject I'm pretty passionate about. There aren't many characters who I feel that strongly about, but the Gunmen are three of them.

And yeah. That was the cheapest of down, dirty shots "killing" them off - there was ZERO reason to it! Seriously! The story would have been TOTALLY UNAFFECTED had they lived - and actually would have been BETTER, because, oh I don't know, they would have BEEN THERE, making the remaining eps AWESOME like they do when they just light up every single episode they're in.

Have ye seen their own spin-off? :B I love it. Unabashedly. It's silly, fun, far less dark and serious and OMG ALIENS TAKING OVER THA ERRRTH!!!1one as X-Files, but still really well-done, I thought, and really well-acted and there are some genuinely sweet or just really good moments. <3 I miss it, so much.

FOX IS THE EXECUTIONER OF AMAZING SHOWS. D< They took the Lone Gunmen, they took away Firefly, they took away The Tick - which I found hilarious. xD Absolutely retarded, yeah, but hilarious.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IanSquall In reply to TheSylverLining [2008-07-27 18:44:17 +0000 UTC]

Wow, you're absolutely right. Mulder was quite out of it, that makes a lot of sense. The plot thickens I don't blame you; that episode was just unacceptable.

And I own the spinoff Love it, it's hilarious! As soon as I heard it existed, I had to have it.

Stupid Fox, they really do cancel all of the good stuff

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSylverLining In reply to IanSquall [2008-07-27 19:05:43 +0000 UTC]

:3 I'm just glad to hear I make sense at all; I'm always a bit worried that my theories are TOO ridiculous (NEVER, right? xD Conspiracy theorists unite!) and even other X-Philes and Gunfen (... how geeky AM I? xD The answer is, "very"!) would look upon me with contempt and WTF-ery!

AAAAHHH ANOTHER WHO KNOWS OF THE SPINOFF! GWOMPS FOR YOU. This makes me joyous. n_n What do ye think yer favorite episode is? Mine's gotta be a toss-up between Eine Kleine Frohike ("Damn, man, where's your tuba? You look like one of the little dudes in the cuckoo clock!"), The Cap'n Toby Show (AWESOME ALL 'ROUND), or Maximum Byers. because that one's just so sweet. <3 Or the one where Jimmy comes in. n_n Because I loves me some Jimmies too, and wish to hug them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IanSquall In reply to TheSylverLining [2008-07-27 19:15:39 +0000 UTC]

Nah, there's no such thing as too ridiculous Unless you believe that the government steals your socks or something ......OH GOD WHAT IF THEY DO?!

My favorite episode...hm, that's hard. The pilot episode made quite an imprint in my mind. I mean, wow, that was scary. Oh and I love the one where Jimmy comes in XD I liked Planet of the Frohikes, too, that was entertaining. I can't choose, ohnoes! D:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSylverLining In reply to IanSquall [2008-07-27 19:22:23 +0000 UTC]

@_@ WHO THE HELL SAYS THEY DON'T?!

xD No, of course they don't steal my socks. My socks are mismatched and generally awful and full of toe-socks, they wouldn't want them!
:B I do think that there are some genuine conspiracies and whatnot, but it's more fun to just gasp at something completely innocuous and go OMG IT'S A CONSPIRACY, I KNOW IT! QUICK! TO THE MOBILE COMMAND UNIT! (I really, really do want a VW van, just to call it that. xD)

0_0 OH MY GAWD I KNOW, about the pilot! That was scary as hell and just - wow. I mean, it predicts EXACTLY what happened - minus the bit about it coming from inside OUR government to boost arms sales, but then again, how the hell do we know something like that didn't have a hand in it? Anyway, I've sometimes wondered if some terrorist group didn't actually get the idea from that episode. Wouldn't that be scary? And completely ironic? 0_0

But yeah, jeez. Such a cool show.

:3 Oh, and I really like the one where Skin-man guest-stars and gets to play Jimmy BEING him, that's so much fun! And naturally I like it 'cause there's a transsexual lady in there who they're nice to. <3 Which makes my queer-center happy.
