Description SPOILERS for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom below! You’ve been warned.

Story:

After the incident that happened at Lockwood Manor, three of the remaining Pteranodons escaped and flew eastward into the United States. Eventually they settle down on high parts of the Appalachian mountains, making a nesting area upon them. Occasionally they may swoop down from the mountains into nearby rivers and lakes to eat fish or scavenge dead animals that were killed by predators beforehand. Doing so, they attracted the attention of unwanted human guests who lived within range of the Appalachian mountains. Not having any knowledge of the breakout at Lockwood Manor, people assume that the pteranodons are some kind of monstrous cryptid like creatures that live up in the mountains, similar to that of the Ropen of New Guinea. Eventually, with so many sightings and pictures of the pteranodons, paranormal investigators and cryptozoologists head up to the mountains to only be greeted with angry pterosaurs trying to protect their young. Most of the investigators and cryptozoologists escaped, while others where grabbed by the pteranodons and thrown off the mountain, possibly to their demise. With the footage they obtained the investigators inform the public of the new pterosaur threat, gaining the attention of the secret services and military. Using the evidence provided, the secret services and military close off any passages leading up to the mountains to perform a full investigation of the area. However, it turns out unlucky with them only finding broken eggshells and bones around some of the nests. It had seemed that the pteranodons migrated with there young somewhere else. Meanwhile, a few days later somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, a commercial fishing boat hauls in a big catch of tuna, which the crew drops down upon the deck in celebration. Not much later, the boat and it’s crew are harassed by a hungry pteranodon, trying to get one of its favorite foods that it received on Isla Nublar before. The crew becomes frightened by the pterosaur and tries battering it away with oars, only resulting in the pteranodon calling for help. Soon the boat is surrounded by multiple pteranodons trying to get at the tuna (pictured above). The crew being overwhelmed flees the boat by life rafts, leaving it abandoned with pteranodon on it. It’s easy to assume all the pteranodons live on some small islands in the Atlantic Ocean, only to fly away to get food from passing by boats and ships.
