Description 2039

Ra's was dead, it wasn't the first time. He had prolonged his life past any other man's with the Lazarus Pit, but even that began to fail him eventually. When the pit couldn't repair his ancient flesh anymore, he transferred his mind into his daughter's body. Talia's body served him well for a time, but when he saw just how OLD the detective had gotten, he decided it was time to take his. Well, needless to say, it didn't go well, and now all of the miracle working machinery was exploding around him. The force of the explosions destroyed his beautiful daughter's body, he was little more than a mess as what was left of him hurled into the pit. As the chemical licked his exposed brain, he regained consciousness and felt the most excruciating pain he had ever endured. He couldn't move, see, or even cry out, all he was an conscious gore pile. And then, suddenly, a voice he never expected to speak to him again, He couldn't speak, he didn't even have a functioning jaw at the moment, but he could muster thoughts, Ra's was frightened by the spectre of Talia, But she cut him off, Ra's had to think quickly, Ra's felt his skull finally close, his eyes worked again, he saw the light cast by the fire. He could feel his organs being repaired, the shattered bones being mended, soon he could climb out of the pit. Talia continued on, Ra's blood ran cold, Talia laughed in his head, Ra's could breathe again, Talia's laughter at his stunned silence ringed in his mind, "No, no child, I am alive! You're dead! You're nothing but a voice in MY head!" He suddenly laughed uncontrollably, an almost delirious laugh. Then his mouth moved of it's own accord, "Is that so...father?" Ra's felt something akin to falling, he could no longer control the movement of his eyes, but he could still see soft skin growing over exposed flesh. He could feel his body move to a vertical floating position, when long hair grew over his face, he wasn't the one that brushed it aside. Talia spoke again, "I wish I could keep you around father, being helpless to do anything as I live my life again, but I can feel you fading away. Ra's fought the falling, tried to muster some strength, and managed to operate the vocal chords, "NO! YOU"LL GIVE IT BACK! IT"S MINE TALIA...it's...my..." Ra's felt his subconscious fall again, more rapidly. Talia grinned, savoring the control of all the little muscles in her face, "No father, it's mine, mine since the day I was born. You've just been borrowing it for awhile, and now it's time YOU gave it back." She stroked over to the side, getting ready to climb out. But before she could, she felt light spasms in her left arm. She turned to see her father's feeble attempt at control, the weak hand guiding itself to her throat. She could barely feel the hand's grasp as Ra's attempted to strangle her. She could her her father's distant voice in her head, She brought her right hand, and firmly removed her left hand from her neck. She held it for awhile, feeling the already weak movements of it lessen with each vain attempt to escape from her grasp. "Father, this is just getting embarrasing. You of all people should know how dynasties fall, that the reign of a king must eventually end. Yes, the great Ra's al Ghul has been evading death for hundreds of years, but you never defeated it father. History may say you died today father. But to me, in my mind, you died when you sacrificed me." She knew he wasn't gone yet, she could still feel him in her arm still, but it didn't fight anymore. Maybe Ra's knew his time was up, maybe her words fazed him into submission. She would never know, she just felt her arm go slack again, and the demon's head was no more. She climbed from the pit, feeling the lazarus drip from her nude body. She could've stood there, but knew that would be a mistake, she could hear the building's integrity giving out. She high tailed it to a concealed exit in the chamber, and slid down a long, dark, steel chute until finally landing in warm Caribbean water. She smiled, knowing that the nightmare was over, and began to gently float on the water, listening to the sounds of destruction above her. "Goodbye father..."
