Nicely done - a cool swag on standard, boring naval shipyard space iron for sure! Hmmmmm. can I have your permission to use this on my FB page header?

I'll say this much. This design does take a swerve from the "flying tube" designs I've seen touted about whenever I try to look for images of Fearless and other RMN ships online. This does give a more visceral sense of a "ship" and it does sort of hold to what Weber has been describing in his books, as far as functionality.
Still, I've commented before on how there needs to be a sense of "menace" about starships -- especially starships built for war -- and while this does improve on several factors, I still don't feel the "menace" of this sort of ship. If this was to come roaring off of a transit-warp in the middle of a fight, as the commander of an enemy ship I don't think I'd be too afraid, even knowing what her weapon capacity and payload was.
When you see a ship like the Executor, or a Thranta-class of Star Wars, or a Galaxy-class like Enterprise, or even a Borg Cube they project an aura of palpable POWER and THREAT. To take the Executor for an example, when it thunders in from hyperspace, you can tell in the instant you see it -- this massive wedge with blazing engines, bristling with turbo lasers and launching wave after wave of fighters -- you KNOW you are in for a fight!
I'm just hoping that whatever designers are working on Weber's story to convert it into a movie, that they take that idea to heart and run with it. I'm all for keeping the functionality of his ideals at heart. Just give the RMN, Peeps and other ships of the line some believable menace in their designs.

Yes, because I'm sure a fleet commander will be just struck down with terror at the sight of a speck in the distance, or something they might not see at all if the impeller wedge is in the way.
The ship shown above (while I commend the artist on making a very good piece of aesthetic) is something the Solarian League might build, not Manticore. Making a ship look good is a secondary concern to warfighting capability. Especially when the only thing the enemy will ever see of it is a red dot on a tactical display.
Put simply, Manticore cannot afford to waste time and resources on giving their spacecraft angry faces. That's better spent on grasers and missile launchers.

Evergreen Studios should base the starships in their film on this. It is just as cool as the concept art they showed at HonorCon, but much closer to the books - and thus, in my opinion, even cooler.

This definitely looks better than the dull double-ended spindle. I like it!

Oh I like it. It has a definite "put in a movie" vibe going on with the different fine-tuned details. I remember when you posted the old HMS Fearless design, so I can mentally compare.

Nice! This might be a direction to go when they want to give a more individual look to the ships for the movie.
