Description
Let me disappear.One of the many versions I did of this painting. That one has been sent as an entry for a contest. See my original description here: "An experimental digital painting. I mixed here different styles to achieve some particular visual effects (layers of [many] effects over the clouds, loosy brush strokes over the waves, lack of depth in the character and in the rock). I wanted to create "holes" in the painting to suggest [a particular mood]."
Okay, don't tell me this painting is awful and imperfect and everything. I aready know this. Please just get rid any any (enventual) prejudice regarding the technique (since it is experimental) and enjoy freely the piece for what is it.

Very nice work.
I like that the figure is just what it wants to be.
The need for overkill and superfluous detail is best left for the surrealists I think.

I'm not sure if I'm following the crowd here becuase I didn't read all the comments...
I love the simplicity of the silohuette (I can never spell that word right.. ) Against the far more complex waters.
Maybe it's just me being color-strange... It looks like you used the same colors for the sky and for the ocean. I love that... I dont know.. I spose it reminds me both can be just as vicious (another word... ) and just as soothing.
Awesome work. You really have a ton of talent.

ouais, eh ben moi j'y connais rien hein, mais j'adore, ca me rappelle trop de trucs, trop de souvenirs gênants, trop de livres que j'ai lus, d"endroits ou j'ai vécu.
j'ai pas de mots pour decrire ce que je ressens. j'ai l'impression que j'ai du passer des heures entieres à attendre comme ca en regardant fixement l'ocean. dans une autre vie peut etre.

La mélancolie et la solitude qui se dégage de cette peinture me rappelle les tableaux de David Friedrich. Le personnage, tout de noir vêtu, auréolé d'une certaine grâce, semble prêt à plonger dans les abymes de la mer. Ou se contente-t-il de contempler sa vie? C'est vraiment majestueux et très beau graphiquement, j'aimerais être capable de peindre comme ça...

It's very beautiful. I live by the ocean and it's almost as if I can smell the salty air when I view this pic
Btw, imo pics are often better when they aren't tecnically "perfect". I think the overall atmosphere and the message of the pic is far more important. Sometimes a pic can be so perfect that it basically has no soul anymore. It's just a pretty picture. Know what I mean?

this painting, especially the sky reminds me of C.D. Friedrichs "Der Mönch am Meer"... you just focused on another part... if CDFs pic shows how slight humans are, i like to imagine that in your piece humans are more in the foreground but still watching the conception helplessly... and btw +devwatching you is my plassure...

can't say much about that piece of art, despite of that it totally caught my eye.. it's very dynamic and yet calm.. reminds me a bit of Caspar David Friedrich. do you know that painter? he's from my hometown Dresde and very famous..

le fond est génial, comme d'habitude, t'es vraiment le king des paysages photoshop
ou je suis moins d'accord c'est la silhouette trop contrastée avec le reste.
ca peut aller avec le concept, dans ce cas je m'en excuse, mais il aurait pu etre différent (je dis pas comment il aurait du etre, c'est pas moi l'artiste, c'est toi

this is truly a sombre painting. the tones, and the suggestion of twilight by the colours. The ocean current suggests a little bit of breeze, and the dark figure on the left could be more refined. but it looks more mysterious this way. its fav worthy i think!
