I don't know why, but something about this image is just beautiful to me. It might be that I'm just the kind of person that never gets around to finishing/coloring anything, but I love it. You set the mood so wonderfully and I love the simplicity of the lines and color. I'm one to respect pieces with a lot of detail, but I also love those with simpler aspects. The little taste of highlights (especially those sparklies!)created by the smooth shading just really makes the image. It's soft, while at the same time sharp with emotion.

I'm also goo-goo for the anatomy XD I love good/realistic anatomy that comes from basic lines and curves (*is a fan of Bruce Timm type of stuff).

This is very beautiful. I love the pose and the way you draw the legs and the feet along with the hands. :3 The wings make everything just totally awesome and amazing! The coloring job goes so well with the mood the character is feeling. It's such a nice touch. You did an amazing job!

That leg is absolutely fabulous. It's a very fashion leg. Gorgeous. I really like the little effect with the tears too. For two hours this is really good. I probably couldn't do something like this in two hours.

Haha.. I don't get the fascination with the leg XD Thanks!

lol. Well understand it or not, it's a very well done leg. It's elegant. That's definitely one thing I like about it. The elegant curves. all this fashion illustration is making me totally pay attention to body parts, especially legs. fashion is all about leg. haha, thanks! Sadly I haven't really done much digital coloring. I'm seriously hoping for a tablet for Christmas though. oh man I want one of those like crazy. Then I'd for sure do more photoshop work.

Yeah, fashion illustration is about them long legs and curvy features XD

And yes, invest in a tablet. They are most definitely worth it! :3

lol. it's totally true. The first day I started the fashion illustration class my professor told me my stuff wasn't right because I wasn't giving the girls enough leg. I was drawing what I saw instead of drawing a fashion model. It's allll about leg. 70% leg, 30% everything else.

I want one sooooo badly. I'm probably going to ask for one for Christmas. which probably means it will be the only gift I get. haha. but that's ok. The 4x6 one is only a little over $200.

That's pretty interesting, I'd like to try out a fashion class (after I master drawing the human proportions the proper way ._. )

Are you sure they're over $200? Here the Wacom Bamboo (approx. 4x6) is $79.99CAD (so it should be less in USD over there maybe). I have the Graphire3 (old version of the current bamboo), and I'm pleased with it :3 Unless you're looking for a more high end one with a bigger surface, then you'll be looking at spending a bit more. I keep drooling over the $2k+ tablet with display.... D:

lol. Yeah mastering normal proportions is probably a good idea. but it's kinda funny because last year my drawing teacher told me I needed to be more realistic but this year my drawing teacher told me I was being too realistic and not very stylistic. I had to basically re-learn everything and adapt. it was a bit odd. but oh well. It's definitely interesting.

huh. I hadn't seen the Bamboo. I'd been looking at the Wacom Intuos products, which are a bit pricier. So wait, you have the old version of the Bamboo? Do you like it? Does it work well with photoshop and everything? I wish I better understood what the real difference is between the Bamboo and the Intuos so I could make a more informed decision. But the website doesn't really explain the differences between them very well. So do you have a small screen on your Graphire? Are you satisfied with that or do you think the smaller screen limits you? sorry to bombard you with questions. two of my friends have the Intous just in two different sizes. I think that's mostly why I was looking at that, since it's what I've seen. oh gosh the $2k+ ones are gorgeous! and insanely expensive. but man I would love to work with one of those. they're fabulous pieces of technology.

I have the old version of the old version of the bamboo XD The Graphire3's had updates before the Bamboo came out. I did hear complaints about the smoothness of the graphire3 updates (my friends with newer graphire3's liked to steal my tablet in class last year XD), but I haven't heard much about the bamboo. If you're looking for a starter tablet though, I'd start with the Bamboo. I -think- the intuos has a larger surface, that's what the difference is, and it's probably a bit more sensitive and has more options or something. I haven't tried bigger tablets than the one I have, so I'm not sure what effect is has (being bigger n all). I'm happy with the 4x6 area, maybe if I tried a bigger tablet my opinion might change, but so far, I'm happy with my little one.

See if you can try some tablets out, whether your school has some or if you can mess around with a friends' tablet. That's probably the best thing you can do :3

The Bamboo Fun is definitely looking like a great option the more I read about it. Less than $100 for the small one. I think that just might be feasible. So I guess I just have to debate if I want to ask my parents for it as an early gift or wait until Christmas actually comes around. tough call there. But thanks so much for recommending the Bamboo, I didn't even look at that one before. But the more I read about it, and see the reviews on it, the more I think that it's a good option.

Thanks for the advice!

It's definitely a good option if you're just starting to use tablets. Once you get super-used to it and start working in the professional world, then you can probably upgrade then. I don't plan on changing mine until it dies off on me :3

yeah I agree. Seems like a pretty good starter. ha, yeah. And hopefully when I'm in the professional world and need to upgrade that means I'll have better funds to do so! silly college costing so much. But I'm sure I'll keep the first one until it dies. No sense in getting another if it still works!
