YEAHHH LAST HERO! I've wanted to read this book for WEEKS, but my brother's had it, but I finally snatched it away for a night and read it and it was AWESOME. Rick Riordan has gotten so much better at making well-rounded characters and interesting plot lines and humor and EVERYTHING.Apparently after I finish a really awesome book, I'm incapable of drawing one good picture - I get all distracted and can only manage doodles like this. I don't think this sketch dump is too spoilery, it's mostly just some headshots so I could figure out character design and then some of my favorite moments, too. I apologize for the last section - it was one page, but the figures were facing different directions so I had to improvise. And coloring was mostly experimental, since watercolors would warp this paper like crazy.
tl;dr: Leo Valdez is the cat's pajamas.

Piper bugged me too, but I'm hoping Riordan develops her more in the next book. She did seem a little too perfect.

I have to say that I did enjoy The Lost Hero but I was disapointed with Piper. There's just something about her that bugs me, maybe it's because she's so....perfect. I can't wait to find out more about what's going on and I absolutely ADORE Leo. I really like your artwork and I think that if these are just your doodles then I would really enjoy looking at an actual art peice by you.

Wait, so is the Lost Hero (or whatever) like the 6th book of the series?

It's the first in a secondary series that includes characters from the first series. So in a way it is the sixth book, but with different main characters, so you could probably just read this without the first five books.
