History:
P.J. was born in a normal home, his mom and dad were both purebred Panda German Shepherds, and he was the runt of the litter. About a month after P.J. was born he, was adopted by a teenage boy who lived with a purebred German Shepherd named, Jason who was 2 months old. On the first day P.J. stayed under a blanket, because he was scared, and didn't like being away from his brothers and sisters. On the second day though, Jason crawled under the blanket with him. He didn't say anything, he just laid there with him. After a short amount of time he made P.J. come out of his shell. They did everything together and were inseparable. No one could make them part, they were best friends. At least that's what Jason thought... But P.J wanted to be more.
By the time Christmas rolled around and P.J. was 9 months old, he started realizing all the dreams he was having about Jason might mean something. He would get really bashful around him and acted totally different than his normal hyper self. On the night of Christmas Eve, Jason and P.J. were sitting in the back yard together having one of their long talks about nothing in particular, and Jason told him he had a present for him. When he came back from his doghouse, he had a red bandana in his mouth. He tied it around P.J.'s neck, and P.J. decided now was the time to tell, Jason that he harbored feelings for him.
"Jason I have something to tell you." He was really nervous but Jason just looked at him with those big brown eyes.
"What's that?" Jason's smile was making P.J. a little weak in the knees. His stomach was in a knot and he wanted to throw up, but he gathered his courage.
He looked at anything besides Jason and began explaining. "Well, you see... I've been having a lot of weird dreams lately and at first I thought it was normal but after hearing our human talk in his sleep about his girlfriend, I think I know what they really mean. Jason..." His teal eyes met those soft brown ones, "I think I love you." He was so embarrassed and wanted to go hide under his blanket again, but Jason was calm.
"I know." He replied, P.J. looked at him surprised but before he could say something, Jason continued talking. "I knew you loved me since that night at the fair when you "accidentally" fell on me." He smiled again which only made P.J. blush more. "But..." Oh no, not the but. "I'm sorry P.J. I just don't love you like you love me. I think you're the best friend ever... But I'm not in love with you."
"Oh..." P.J. walked over to the dog house and laid with his butt in the entrance. He felt so ashamed of himself. He though there was something wrong with him that could make Jason not love him.
"You're still my best friend though..." Jason said comfortingly, but P.J. wasn't listening. His dreams came crashing before him. The next two days were hell for him. He still loved Jason and knowing nothing would ever happen between them, devastated him. On the third day after Christmas, P.J. ran away, only taking the bandana around his neck. After days of walking he made it to Pawsville. He'd heard about his place on his travels and heard that there were lot's of opportunities here. He made his new home a box in an alley next to an abandoned building. He liked it here it was cozy though it was no dog house. He also really missed Jason and wondered if he made a mistake of running away sometimes, but he didn't even remember how to get home so he stayed in Pawsville. Now P.J. has spent 8 months on the streets and is 1 and 5 months old.
UPDATE: PJ wandered the streets for a while, but inevitably grew tired of the stray life. He loved the friends he had met while free, but he really wanted to settle down with a nice family. One day he met a nice young man named Elias. He took in the lonely shepherd and gave him so much more than just a bed and shelter. He gave him love and a home. He made friends with Elias' other pet, and has really taken a liking to him. He thinks he might have found a forever home...
Recently, PJ's been having recurring nightmares of the tornado that happened earlier that year. He thinks of his old friend Suzette, and saving people after the tornado passed. But every time he's about to save someone, he wakes up. Does this mean something? Maybe he was destined to be a search and rescue dog.
