And I noticed a earlier comment stating that you suggested in a poll that you may redo this tutorial, and I also noticed how long ago this was made. I want to be able to make a pixel pagedoll for my front page, but i've never made pixel art before. (unless u count re-coloring videogame and cartoon characters in MS Paint when i was 12 cuz i thought i was cool...)
Are there any new tips that you learned since you uploaded this? Any pointers I should know before I take on pixel art?

Although my style has greatly changed in my pixel art, most of what i said in the tutorial remains true!!
The only new tip i could give is studying color theory and working with limited palettes. i kind of dismissed color theory here! im still studying colors myself, i recommend finding a palette here on deviantart (with permission from the creator) and use the palette for practice.Β
other than that and minor style changes ive experienced, not much has changed!

I just noticed your poll about updating/revamping the pixel tutorial, so cane to visit. Your way is decent, but it can also be somewhat time consuming for those who use a mouse or don't have a pen tablet. Maybe offering an additional method in such cases could help.

Majority of the time I do pixel art in MS Paint, because it's easier! But I love your style and especially when you said that t's about fun, usually some artists take their art seriously XD

Are you using a Graphics Tablet? Or is this just with a mouse?

I never use mouse, I suggest a bamboo tablet!!

what is the pixel brush? is it in the free version? or were you talking abour the binomial brush?Β

In sai it is a default brush. Unfortunately I have been without Sai for 2 months now, but I did buy sai and it was under a name other than "pixel brush". I cannot say for sure for the free version!

In the trial version I believe it is called the Legacy pen, but in the full version it is called the Binary pen.
